    Corrected that for you.

Sorry but your correction is wrong as my force i.e. more than just me, doesn't offer cautions for mobile phone use.

    No, it's correct thanks.

    You don't caution, doesn't mean you can't.

I'm sure I'm not the only one who would welcome all cars to be fitted with signal blocking devices.

I do not see any phone call that cannot wait till a break or end of journey, regardless. Cradle or no cradle !!!!!!, they are a serious mental distraction, loss of concentration and that should put an end to it whilst driving.

And before someone starts bleating about the passengers in the car not being able to use theirs . . . who cares? Get over it. Same applies to them - I do not see any phone call that cannot wait till a break or end of journey.
The bankers stole my pension (and everyone else's). It should have earned a lot of money, but they took their bonus pot first.

Try telling that to anyone who works in the field, guessing you work in an office

I agree. I have never heard of a caution being used for a motoring offence. They are usually reserved for criminal offences.

It could be reading the OP's post again, was that he was getting a caution in so far as words of advice that might be recorded locally, but not mean anything unless he was caught again. Not sure without knowing more.

But seems the attitude test was failed and could be costly.

Most Police are quite human (Except traffic officers in BMW's) and are happy to dish out a lecture and let you go without penalty for minor infractions. At the end of the day its about road safety and education and not money making for the government pot.
Act remorseful, apologise for a moment of stupidity or loss of concentration and hope for the best.
NO to pasty tax We won!!!! Just shows that people power works! Don't be apathetic to your cause!

You do realise motoring offences such as speeding and mobile phones are criminal offences, don't you?

In what way is a hands-free mobile call any more mentally distracting than having a conversation with passenger(s)?

Because they are in the car with you and can see what is happening. Your spouse at home, giving you endless grief for not kissing him/her goodbye that morning, has no idea that you are approaching a busy roundabout and might appreciate a moment's silence. Your passengers do.
If someone is nice to you but rude to the waiter, they are not a nice person.
