Which Valuation for car?

Hi all
Has anyone recently sold a car? I am just trying to find the correct valuation for my car (bought brand new 2005, done only 7000 miles).
Would be grateful for any advice.
Should I rely on
1. parkers.co.uk £4
2. all other free valuation sites, but they all give a range of values from £1650-4240
Is one site more accurate than the others?
I read somewhere that CAP (cap.co.uk) is the industry standard, is that correct?
TIA

It is worth what someone will pay for it in the end. I'd look on pistonheads, fleabay, autotrader etc for cars with similar miles/age/spec and price for the market.
Remember trade in will be a lot less if that is what you plan to do.What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
Webuyanycarforloadslessthanitsactuallyworth.com would be a good starting point.
Then look at similar cars on autotrader and ebay for private sales.
7,000 miles on a 10 year old car will be very low mileage, maybe look on owners club forum and punt it on there, if its sporty car."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -
Their is no correct valuation nor an industry standard .
Basic is its current selling price is what that car is selling for now on the forecourts subject to condition.
Autotrader is probably a good indicator as to what is being asked .
Motor traders and dealers will use CAP and GLASS Guide as an indicator .But no more than an indicator .
Colour mileage model how that car has sold stock held discount if part chop and money in any deal are all reasons why prices may vary .0 -
If you go for a WBAC valuation, use a throwaway email address ... if you don't follow through you'll be getting emails from them for years to come.
I used them to get a valuation on my old C3 ... I still get emails now (about the C3) even though I got rid of it in 2010.

for your valuable advice.
Just got a call from a dealer, but he is offering me the part exchange (=trade in) price, when I clearly want to sell it!!! there is a huge difference,
from what i can see on glass
Trade in =1645
Dealer price =£3,530
the difference =£1885 , so he is offering me less than half the price, when I don't want to trade in
or have I got this thing confused?
TIA

If you want to sell it then do your own research, put a private advert up and sell it.
A trader is only going to give you trade money, some don't like buying cars off the public when they are not buying another one from them.

Just to be clear, Glass and CAP actually edit the live information from sales outlets, including auctions, to arrive at their values, they are not entirely just made up. The issue with the information is that the average motorist cannot read it properly or objectively adjust the value to reflect the true condition of what is in front of them.
Use WBAC as a starting point, check what similar cars are selling for privately, locally (AT +eBay) and you will get an idea of what you can get for it.
Don't waste your time with Parkers, who appear to exist solely to sell their publication and don't confuse a filthy, in use, rattling example for an immaculated, forecourt version of the same thing.0 -
Age, mileage, colour, condition, service history, etc., etc.0

Difficult one to price as there are no Civics of this age with that mileage.
Put it up for £5,000 and go from there, the market will decide the value."Dream World" by The B Sharps....describes a lot of the posts in the Loans and Mortgage sections !!!0 -
