just remember, you are doing this as HER, assuming she is the RK

so not on her behalf, but as if YOU are SHE

if by snail mail, do so in her name if she is the RK , as KEEPER, (or RK really) , not as DRIVER

so using her email, not your email , even if you are writing it logged on as her

And don't be alarmed when they reject the appeal. That's just part of the process. The second appeal (to the independent appeals body POPLA) is the bit that kills it stone dead.

Just so you know what to expect!

I have used her email account. And I have done it from her. Thanks Redx

Also thanks ManxRed, it would be nice if they cancelled it straight away with the BPA CoP but they won't. More worry for mum as she won't listen when I say don't worry about it.

Hi Diva, how are you, well I hope? Still missing you from the comps board.

You should also try sending a complaint to the Sovereign Centre management. They have a contact email address at gill@sovereignshoppingcentre.co.uk as per their website. They can instruct the PPC to cancel the charge. Include copies of any receipts and stress to them that this was an elderly person who simply made a small error when entering the Registration number and it's a bit harsh to punish an honest customer for an innocent mistake. If you can get them on-board it would save mum some worry of going through the appeals process. Still don't give away who the driver was though.
Even if that doesn't work I'm sure that you'll get it killed off at the POPLA stage. Good luck.

Had a reply from the sovereign centre to my email and they state

"I am so sorry you have had the car parking charge from Britannia. I can confirm that I have sent your email to the area manager and await his response.

Unfortunately the car park is not under our control as Britannia is our tenant but I do hope they see you have made a genuine mistake and withdraw the charges.

Please let me know when you here from Britannia.

I look forward to seeing you in the Centre shortly."

So not much help really. Gahhhh

No it's not. You might want to remind them that Britannia are their agent and therefore acting on their behalf. Never mind 'hoping' Britannia cancel it for you, tell them they must tell them to!

How do I word that to them? Without sounding like a complete cow which I will do!

Why not sound like a complete cow? They have lied to you, kick some @rse.

That response is a bit confusing. The last part makes it sound like they can't help and now it's up to Britannia but the first paragraph says that the area manager is yet to comment. Perhaps the area manager will be more helpful.

I would reply along the lines of, Thanks for your reply, I look foward to hearing that the area manager has been able to instruct Britannia to cancel this charge.
Britannia may be your tenants but they are acting as your agents and their over zealous and unreasonable actions are affecting the customers of your other tenants and potentially driving them away from your centre.
I can assure you that you will certainly not be seeing me or any of my family or friends shortly or any other time if we are going to be treated in this manner.
