Best Moneysaving Android Apps
If you're running an android smartphone, what apps or services save you money? I'm mainly thinking of ones that keep your phone charges down.
e.g do a lot of people save using Skype?
Is Whatsapp useful? (I find I can't use it in supermarkets that have wifi service).
Does Operamini save data usage compared with other browsers?
Has anybody used Onavo Extend, to shrink their data usage?
Also webpages that can save you money, even if they're not actual apps.
The http://www.saynoto0870.com/ website is useful.
Also
http://www.0800buster.co.uk/
And besides phone savings, any other ones that help you get other bargains.
Apologies if this isn't the right place for the thread.

I use Checkoutsmart quite often. It's saved me about £25 so far.0

WeQ4U is a FREE Android/iPhone App and Service that puts you through to UK 01,02,03 and 08 numbers for FREE, without queueing. Mobile users save approx. 30p per minute on their 0800, 0845, 0844, 0843, 0870, 0871 and 0872 calls with WeQ4U, whether they encounter a queue or not, so it saves you money and time.0 -
I've not had a problem using WhatsApp on supermarkets WiFi.
Shopitize is similar to Checkoutsmart.
Vouchercloud and Voucher codes are both similar in that you can get discounts in restaurants and HSS and Timpsons are 2 I can think of.0 -
I've never heard of checkout smart, can iy be used in Tesco please?0

Viber is great as it works with calls, text and media. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0

WhatsApp are starting to charge for their service. VIBER is FREE and better.0

WhatsApp have always given you get the option of paying for the service. I've paid for it for the last 2 years but my subscription has recently expired though they have extended it till March. I'll see how I get on not paying for it. I use the service more than I use phone calls/texts. There's also a web messenger service out now but you still need your phone to log in.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. Going off on a slight tangent, I use Waze all the time. It's a 'social sat nav' - as in the maps are user contributed, and other data too. How does it save money? You can avoid traffic jams and save fuel by not sitting in them, or if you're the poor sap stuck in one, tell others about it. And when you do need fuel, you can find the cheapest nearby, again fed in by your fellow users.
As above Viber can save on call/text charges as long as you're on WiFi or have data included, and relating to this, some versions of Android are now good at telling you how much data you've used in a month, and alerting you when you're near your limit - Settings, Wireless & Networks, Data Usage on my phone, or there are apps out there if you don't have it.0 -

If anybody can name or give feedback on these, that would be great. There is no honour to be had in not knowing a thing that can be known - Danny Baker0
