Not bad for a laptop cooler............
And thats the reason I use them well the reason I started useing them, the fan failed so I raised the laptop up and put a desk fan behind to cool it raising it allowed air to flow under it easier. Even when I replaced the fan inside it was a lot more comfortable to use it raised up the way it is on the cans. It also give me a place to put the fingerprint reader, pens loose change whatever.

I use an excel spreadsheet on my pc with 3 columns - site, username and password.
I know it isn’t very secure so I will start using that Locknote idea that sra suggested. (thanks sra).
Firefox fills in all my passwords automatically and I have a password manager for IE.
I know I should have more security. One day I will improve it, probably shortly after my laptop is stolen, my identity cloned and my bank accounts cleared out.
Actually I wish someone would steal my identity. Then they can have the mortgage and overdraft headaches.0 -
Ever get the feeling you are wasting your time? :rolleyes:0

i don't - it's on my own pc at home and no one else can access it.
I suppose i should incase the house is burgled but in that case those details would be changed anyway.
I run anti virus and a firewall so I'm as safe as i can make it

Maybe for everyone storing their passwords in a low security manner such as word files, on scraps of paper etc I could suggest that they don't write/type the actual password but use a simple cypher. Eg whenever there's a number add 1 (1 to 2, 9 to 0)and when there's a letter shift it up a letter (a to b, z to a). That way if anybody got hold of your list they still wouldn't immediately be able to do anything with it but it's still useful for you because you know what to do to the password to make it usable. And I'm quite confident one can remember easily to shift all passwords down one letter."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Along with others, I would recommend keepass. It's excellent.
You can use it to generate random passwords. You can store the URL for each site and copy the pasword into clip board. Very quick to use and you can then protect the whole thing with one password. I'd suggest you take the time to learn one very non standard string as the overall password.
Keep a memory stick / disc copy of the keepass file away from your pc / laptop in case it gets nicked or to use with other computers.Apparently I'm 10 years old on MSE. Happy birthday to me...etc0 -
Keepass for me as well. Even if your files get stolen then the passwords are safe with strong encryption.Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0

. Use one of the secure password managers mentioned here at the very least. G
