I've just applied for the goldfish card through Quidco, should hopefully get £41 for that

Ds is in bed now, I'll have 10 minutes on here then try and get as much ironing done s possible while corrie is on. Theres no way I want to tackle the whole pile but if I limit it to half an hour while watching corrie then I might make a decent dent in it ;):D

  • Hi Benben
Just ordered my aussie hair freebie - will do for a hamper next year:D
Must be a day for getting stuff sorted all round - i also bought greenflag cover through quidco and got £20 cashback for £46.50 spend, well happy with that:D especially as OH paid.;) ;)
Sorted through my online accounts to check points etc so know exactly where I am up to for the money neutral challenge now.
I am surrounded by lists and spreadsheets, just need to sort out the household budget for 2008 and I am almost organised:eek: .

Glad you and your friend enjoyed your walk today. I spent time this afternoon driving round looking for one of my residents with alzheimers who had gone missing. he turned up safe and sound a while later:D :D:D

    How's the AQA going ? You haven't mentioned it for a while:confused:

  MY IRONING BASKET IS EMPTY !!!!

Yay !!! All done !! I always feel so much better when its all done and ts not even tht bad a job to do, but because I can bung it in a cupboard and keep it out of sight I never get round to it :o Anyway, its all finished for now at least ;):D

Aqa isn't going so well ... last time I logged on I'd had a review done by my assessor and I failed :o She said it was only minor things and I shouldn't worry too much ... but if you fail 2 in a row then you can be terminated  Its kind of put me off logging on now :o:o:o
Off now to find the documents for my car tax and I'll nip to the post office in the morning and get it sorted ;) Tomorrow is payday too which is good!!

  • Hi benbenandme, I have never posted on your diary before but just wanted to say you have inspired me to start overpaying my mortgage in 2008. I am aiming to overpay £2,500 this year, and will especially use any 'free' money e.g. from Quidco sign-ups etc to put towards the overpayments.

Thank you for being so inspiring x

Awww thankyou atb :D Have you checked out a mortgage calculator to see what a difference that money would make?? Have a look here ... http://www.channel4.com/money/homebuying/overpaycalc.html

It is a huge motivator to see the difference it makes ... for mine basically anything I can save is worth about three times that amount in interest, so if I save £10 it knocks about £30 off the total I have to pay back. Every time I buy something now I see it not in terms of how much it costs but in terms f how much it would knock off the mortgage :rotfl:

    Good luck with yours

  • Thanks hun, yes I looked at this, filled it in and printed it off - it is now stuck to my fridge! My friends all think I am crackers when I talk about overpaying my mortgage, but more fool them, I would rather have the interest money in my pocket not the bank's! I will keep popping back on and let you know how I am doing x

I've been meaning to ask you Benben, are you still enjoying working in school?
Is it better to aim for the stars and hit a tree or aim for a tree and land in its branches

I love it Spud, absolutely love it :D I've got to go on a few days training courses in Jan / Feb / March, but I feel like I've been there years already (in a good way ;) ). The 2 week break over xmas and New Year is a fab part of the job too :rotfl:
