Postie has just brought me a £10 Argos voucher from a survey site  and my new MBNA credit card arrived ... never had one before
... now I have to figure out how I move the money from it into the bank and I can start making (a tiddly) bit of interest on it to go towards the mortgage pot

Just wanted to say "thanks" for keeping your diary updated as I genuinely find it an inspiration to read.:T
I couldn't keep my diary going properly as I moved house last week and I was without the t'interweb properly for two weeks before that. I'll try again in the new year as a lot of my SOA has changed. I'm getting much cheaper broadband / TV / phone than before ( £33.45 instead of about £60 ), my rent is cheaper and I'm consolidating my debts through CCCS too.
Sorry to hijack your thread a little but please don't underestimate the ability you have to inspire people through the diaries of you and others on here. I can barely buy anything nowadays without checking online first or trying to get a discount or special offer on it and normally just after I've read your thoughts on here...
As a kind of "single parent" too ( I have the twins much more than normal absent dads ), I find that side of your diary interesting too.
Best wishes to you and DS for a great Christmas.
Martin

I've got my Mum 2 jumpers from Edinburgh Woollen Mill shop, they were £14.99 each but when they went through the till one was reduced to £7.49, so came to £22.48 altogether
I also nipped into Sainsburys next door and spent another £16  but I bought duracell betteries (4 + 4 free), croissants to finish my nans breakfast hamper, and then some gifty bits that were half price and 3for2
, all of which will go into the present box under my bed ready for 2008
Then we went and delivered some parcels and cards and now we've had lunch, ds is watching the Snowman (again  ) and I must get on with some tidying up
I might even hoover under my bed while its relatively empty under there
Oh, and while I was out, M&S have deleivered part of the order, the pack of pot pourii I ordered to get it up to £30, but not the main bits I wanted ... still, I think they may be getting the whole lot back anyway!Mortgage Total: £49,992/ £75,000

I have had a blitz on the flat and it is looking much more respectable now

I still need to clean and hoover everywhere, but at least it is tidy no so it shouldn't take long to do that tomorrow.
Jobs left to do before Christmas:- Wrap remaining presents
- Hoover and clean through
- Make mince pies with ds
- Go to church tomorrow evening
- Make reindeer food ready for xmas eve
- Order stuff from Next tonight
- Put up remaining xmas cards
- check financial situation for this month

- Drive around locally in the evening and look at the pretty lights with ds

Sounds like you and DS will have a lovely time, and doing stuff like making mince pies and looking at the lights are the memories he will remember when he is older.
i have just been making some of the chocolate slabs from the christmas board - great fun:D would be ideal to do with DS.0 -
