Yes, he's really not helping matters is he?
I don't know what's wrong with me lately, but I'm actually doing some gardening! After years of living between Percy Thrower and Alan Titchmarsh and generally letting the side down when it comes to having a nice garden, I've finally decided "how hard can it be to "plonk" (technical term!) a few plants into a few pots?
Im hoping my lavender arrives today and it stops raining so I can get out and plant them. The actual planting bit bores me (some people find this relaxing?!) but I like seeing the end results!0 -
Morning all! I was been a bit off-grid last week as I was off work and my laptop has gone funny so was trying to keep up on my phone, which I hate!
Firstly, big hugs for the spider scare Tea! I hate them. DH is scared too so we have to tackle them together, usually it involves him throwing a shoe at the offending spider, me squealing and passing tissues to him to wipe the squashed spider up and then pouring us both a stiff drink!
I hope this week training the temp isn't too heinous. I hate training people! We have a new guy starting on my team soon and I know it's going to be me training him and I'm dreading it. I also hope that FOH gets his backside in gear and moves out soon. The fact that he isn't because *he* wants to give things another go (i.e. it's the easiest option) says it all realy, what about you?!
I had to laugh at Elsien's bright side of grilling the oven glove!I'm just glad that the fire alarm did work and nothing too bad happened WaS! I often get memory lapses and it's disturbing, must be horrid to feel that you can't do simple tasks because the memory just isn't there.
Big hugs Pyxis; glad you left the sub-group, they sound like a rotten lot!
Well done on the weight loss whitewing! :T Saunas are lovely; you don't get naked (especially frowned upon in mixed gender ones at the swimming baths, single sex sessions in a Turkish Bath are another matter, as I learned when I went to one and got an eyeful of naked old lady! :rotfl:). I do find it hard to breathe in them though so only go in for a few minutes at a time. I must prefer a steam room.
I'm glad the scattering of the ashes went well last week Georgie. I actually think that a ruby necklace or something would be lovely for your mum.
Hope Code and Melly aren't feeling too shocking today. Hugs!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
I love saunas, though I did doze off in one once...that was very bad! I've been known to do stretches if I'm the only one in there, warm muscles are bendy

Thanks Hun!
That's what would worry me about saunas, not being able to breathe properly with having asthma.0 -
Yeah, I get a bit panicky in the dry heat because I have funny lungs (not quite asthma but just not very good in general, and especially bad when there's a lot of pollen about!) but steam is nice.Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. I'm an oddbod with asthma - steam rooms make my lungs feel "damped down" in steam but saunas seem to expand them. I'd love a sauna cabin in the garden!

Tripod has interpreted it to mean that she can go under the sink, whenever it is raining or she just doesn't feel like the effort of going out. Not the brightest kitty in the litter.
Great story, Stoodles!
The idea of an intrepid cow spotting the lack of electric fence and doing a Great Escape! I'm glad the whole cow didn't come through the windscreen!
Did the insurance pay out ok for your car?
What luck that a fireman and a GP came along at the right moment!
Did you get your dinner with relatives that evening?
But now I want to know what became of the knickers! You'd think the police would have realised whom they belonged to, wouldn't you? Did you not ask for them back?(I just lurve spiders!)

I did ask for them back - hence the "I left my knickers in your police car last night!"
Fortunately the insurers did pay, as it was actually my mothers car, just to make things worse. We didn't get the meal, as the in laws had to drive us home. Still, all those hours later, it wouldn't have been up to much. All in all, it was an incredibly fortunate car crash - very little harm done to anything that mattered.0 -
That was a lucky escape Stoodles!
Having a panic atm, waiting for a call from an ESA assessor - I can feel myself going numb and dissociative. I think I need to get my MH assessed formally, I have this dissociative pathway in my head and I know I can work round it, but not all the time a formal diagnosis could be helpful.
Sorry if this should be penguined, cant seem to think straight at all:AStarting again on my own this time!! - Defective flylady! :A0 -
