Today while eating dinner, I came across some unpleasant bits up plastic I thought was originally bones, but turned out the be thin strips of white plastic. Some I feel is stuck in my throat.
Absolutely disgusting, does anyone know the best way to go about complaining about this? Obviously some compensation, vouchers etc would be a start, but I am thinking maybe the health and safety standards to warn others?

Maybe the first thing you should be thinking about is how to get the thing out of your throat.

I'm alive : ).
Serious answers please. Correct me if I'm wrong, but how can chicken breast get something inside it, its not processed?0 -
It was a serious answer- if you feel that there is something stuck in your throat, you need to seek medical attentionI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Health & Beauty, Greenfingered Moneysaving and How Much Have You Saved boards. Take a photo, complain and see what you're offered by tesco. I would take whatever that is.
You'll get no sympathy on this site. Expect a few sarky comments and a Simpson cartoon referencing children. It's how we roll on this site0 -

Chicken breasts from non organic chickens ARE often processed.
Unless marked British, they may be imported from Asia into Netherlands where they can be washed with ammonia and have added water and glucose syrup injected into them before being imported into UK. Joanna Blythman wrote about it in one of her books more than 10 yrs ago.
Not just chicken, I've found 11% added water and glucose syrup in Tesco pork chops. The small print is often on the label in the packaging not on the outside !
The plastic could have gotten there through processing I guess.0 -
I'm aware of them being injected with water etc, but to get plastic inside, surly they would have to state it as "processed chicken".
I don't expect much from frozen chicken breasts, but certainly don't expect plastic, that's worse then hot dogs!!!:rotfl:
After double checking their ingredients, definitely no mention of plastics.
Anyway, I am writing to the manager now, along with customer services - who ever responses first. I won't expect too much, Tesco have terrible customer service.0 -
