I was wondering how you got your rent paid by state, that is housing benefit. But someone said you could be in private rent.0

I think I need to start this thread again as its changed so much now.
Hear goes I have a joint tenancy with my daughter who is in full time employment and does not claim any HB because her salary is too high. I receive DLA and somesort of ESA , I intend to claim HB for myself so what I wanted to know is.... do I claim for half the rent or a 3rd as my daughter has 13 year old son who also lives here so there are 3 of us in total 2 adults and 1 child
The property is private rented.
Sorry for all the confusion but hopefully this will make it simpler to understand?0 -
You claim what is in your rent agreement. Some landlords may charge more for 2 rooms, others may split it in half if the master room is of the same size. Has your landlord not set your rent?Tomorrow is the most important thing in life0

Only the adult tenants are responsible for the rent. So you'll have to claim HB for your half and your daughter will have to pay the other half.0
