Samsung S5 deal on Mobiles.co.uk

Hello

I was wondering whether someone could please help? There is a great deal on mobiles.co.uk. Is this a trustworthy site? I know in the past there were quite a few dodgy subsidiary sites about.

Thanks

Jamie

No problems if it's not a cashback ('redemption') contract.

If it is, do you research and be prepared to jump through hoops if needed.

I've used them with no problems but read the T&Cs closely - particularly around what happens if you end the contract early. There are a few threads saying that they may request payment for the handset if you don't complete the contract - most third party providers seem to have similar clauses though.

ETA - I had no problems with getting the cashback on time - set a reminder to send the bill on time. The only problem I had was when I changed bank accounts

I ordered from Mobiles.co.uk a few years ago (they're connected to e2save - when you call their Mobiles.co.uk customer services line they introduce themselves as e2save) and had a lot of trouble with claiming cashback.

It's made worse by the fact that they don't really have a customer services you can email (you have to go through the 'My Account' section on their website every time).

If you want to call them, be prepared for excessive waiting times.

Personally, I'd avoid them unless you're getting a non-cashback deal. And even in that event, make sure you inspect the handset you receive to ensure it's not a 2nd hand device.

Not surprised you had problems with them, given your complete lack of understanding about most things.

By the way - they don't "trade as e2save"; both are subsidiaries of CPW, but you obviously don't understand that either.

Oh dear, MobileJunkie has arrived looking to hijack the thread and start an argument.

Ironic that you're questioning my understanding of cashback when it appears that you have suffered huge issues with Mobiles.co.uk in the past:

Maybe you need to go teach Mobiles.co.uk some "basic English law" - "something they can't seem to grasp" eh?

Not most in general, and not mobiles.co.uk in particular.

I did; years ago. I've never lost a cashback from them as a result and am actually better off for so doing.

Interesting how much time you spent researching my posts from years ago; pity you've learned nothing as a result, though I see you've changed your original incorrect statement about them trading as e2save to a fumble which indicates your true lack of understanding about that.

Successfully applying for cashback from an online mobile phones retailer = MobileJunkie's Magnum opus

A cursory glance of no more than a minute conveys the tribulations you faced at the hands of Mobiles.co.uk, wouldn't exactly call it researching; in the same way I wouldn't deem a successful cash back application as being an achievement worth boasting about.

Wee and fire as far as I'm concerned with mobiles.co.uk ..... as I've said before I would do without a phone if it meant buying one from them !
It's not just about the money

How about hundreds? Making a profit from all my deals over several years is worth the odd challenge when playing the game with dealers - provided you know what you're doing. It's quite plain that you don't.
