    I've been Money Tipped!
Good to see people are getting back into the swing of things, I'm now trying to get out and about most evenings, just looking at a map to decide were to go this evening.

I bought this saddle a couple of years ago because I was suffering with a numb perineal area.

It's firm but I find it very comfortable.

Wow, not cheap, is it! I've thought about a holey saddle from time to time, but don't you find that the edges of the hole tend to dig in at all? I've been using a WTB Pure V Pro for years which is OKish, and certainly better than the Selle Italia FLX that came with the bike. The issue with finding saddles is that you have to cough up and buy one in order to find out whether it's any good. It's a pity somebody doesn't still do a saddle library like Orbit used to.

People are frequently concerned about the risk of injury when mountain biking but it's the road biking that scares me as I'm generally going far faster on much rougher surfaces on a less stable bike. Thankfully never had any crashes on the road bike aside from very low speed ones, I learnt the hard way that the front wheel can catch a foot on tight turns.

On a similar note I was surprised by some of the people in this article:

    http://www.bicycling.com/bikes-gear/components/catch-counterfeiter-sketchy-world-fake-bike-gear

They clearly take cycling quite seriously yet bought carbon parts, even a frame that was clearly a fake and didn't even fit a wheel properly they carried on and pushed the bike hard. I know there's some decent cheap carbon parts particularly the likes of On One and Planet X brand to sell themselves but I can't believe people would take such a risk with branded fakes which are different.

My bike was a £6,000 Cannondale which weighed about 6.3kgs so cheap wasn't an option. :D

I didn't find any part of it uncomfortable, In buying it, I placed my trust in the majority of reviews that suggested it was right for my size and my symptoms, It's difficult to choose the right saddle as you say, so I relied on the fact that it was reassuringly expensive. ;)
Make everything as simple as possible, but not simpler.

At least with a seat you also have the advantage that you can easily move it between bikes. This is the first time I've bought a nice saddle so I'm curious to see how it works out, in some ways I hope bad as then there will be no temptation to change any other saddles.

Ha Ha well maybe; red light jumping, no lights at night, and cycling on the pavement and pedestrian areas (also sometimes at night with no lights) are the biggest issues in my area. i would say red light jumping is the done by the majority of cyclists rather than the minority you allege. For evey cyclist I see waiting at a red light, I see at least two others sailing straight through or up onto the pavement as if they were a pedestrian.
