Think about what you've just said there.
He stopped got out and saw the damage. That's how he can say it was only a slight tip.
If you remove his responsibilities under the road traffic act and concentrate on the extent of your injuries it may make it easier for you to understand.0 -
Can I ask if the driver actually stopped to exchange details?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0

Obvious questions then; how does the OP know he was drunk and how did he obtain his insurance details? Did he mange to obtain the VRM?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

There's no evidence he was drunk, apparently the went to his address and wouldn't test him. Now the OP has decided to remove that bit, in the OPs local area they for some reason cannot conduct a forensic count back.0 -

Hmm, curious to know why. By removing vital bits reduces credibility IMO. Notice that the edit occurred over 4 hours following the OP.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

Didn't notice any ref to children. If the OP's account is true then surely there would of been a prosecution?PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -

A drunk driver side swiped our stationary car causing a lot of panel damage.we called the police.he fell out of his car and stumbled back to his feet, got in the car and drove home.the police could,nt come as they were to busy!the children in our car were crying and my body was sore from the impact,so we managed to get down to the hospital to get checked over.the police called to the drunk driver the follwing day and he admitted the crash and leaving scence of accident in police statement.they could do nothng for the drink driving bit as she was not breathalised at the scence.he was not charged for leaving scene as we did,nt push it.
His insurance sent our car to there enginners and they said car was a cat D now and either give me 6k and they keep the car or give me 3k and i keep car and fix it my self.they sent me out the cheque for 3k and that was fine.
I contacted a solicitor because i was off work for time and i had a bad back and neck which was made alot worse. His insurance is now saying it was a low impact crash and i could not of been injured????????
my mother and children were abit traumatised about the accident,it not a normal thing for kids to see a drunk driver crash into your car,get out,get in his car again and then clip car again when he drove off.
his car was never examined and vanished for a week after to repair any damage.
Is this normal pratice for insurance companys after they have paid out for the damage?
I think his insurance is going on a photo the drunk driver took of his car with alittle dent on it.0
