Perhaps the (free) version of Malwarebytes would also help.
Paying for Virus protection is a thing of the past. They do nothing better than any free versions. I recommend MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) because it's free from bloat, minds it's own business and simply works.
depends if you just want basic AV which is all you get with free AV and Microsoft Security Essentials
