Kaspersky Internet Security 2012
On hindsight, I should have tried the license codes on the 2012 version before uninstalling it. New versions are not always good.
I should have known-learn a previous lesson when I upgraded Skype and the new version also could not work.
Lesson learnt: If it ain't broken, don't change it!
Strange i use Kaspersky and have since they started in 2009 and have never removed it, i have always upgraded from the KIS control panel which has generated the latest version and just updated the licence key.
are you using Kaspersky Anti Virus or Internet Security0 -
I have never renewed direct through Kaspersky as you can get cheaper elsewhere, even full retail versions from supermarkets etc. as all you need is the licence key, and always update key with 14 days before expiry then the unused days will be added to the new period.
My last KIS was only £14 from Ebay. Once i got the key i checked this with Kaspersky to see if it was legit and was surprised as the seller sold it as a 1PC for 1 year and when the key was checked with Kaspersky it was a 3PC for 2 year licence. I informed the seller of this and he still insisting it was only 1 PC for 1 Year.0 -
I have downloaded software from Software4Students. I have found them to be excellent, and their software to be good value.
I have never seen the need to pay for AV software though. The free options are perfectly adequate for my needs.0 -
i have ran Kaspersky since they started, they only time i have not ran KIS is at current as i have running the Windows 10 Pro tech preview as KIS wont run on the preview, but it will run when 10 is officially released. my KIS licence has about 5 months to run, but Kaspersky are OK wit this and have stated that when windows 10 is released to let them know and they will provide me with a new licence key, so i can get the 5 months usage back.0

well if you check they are in their 20th year as they ran beta before public release in 2009.

Yet another mistake that needs editing perhaps?0 -
i got the 1997 version on discs which i still have, it come on floppy discs (12) then i also have the discs for all subsequent years, even though i just used the licence keys.Yes, rightly so as you were wrong. Could you also correct what's in the brackets because it makes no sense.
they were the days when you spent hours installing software using floppy discks0 -
i even have the floppys for windows 3.1 which is on 26 floppys.
I also forgot that everyone on MSE is perfect and never make errors (which if your check I CORRECTED.0 -
From memory 3.0 was on three disks and 3.1 was on maybe six/seven disks. Nostalgia!0

So YOU bought software that wasn't compatible?copper2sulphate wrote: »I bought a software that wasn't compatible with my laptop. It made my laptop unable to start in normal mode and I went through a lot of trouble trying to uninstall it in safe mode.
Sounds like YOU will have to bare the cost of not checking before hand.
On the other hand, my partner used them and nothing went wrong.
NEVER PAY for virus protection... download Microsoft Security Essentials (free) and be done with it. If you have Windows 8 and above, it's already included.
Perhaps the (free) version of Malwarebytes would also help.
Paying for Virus protection is a thing of the past. They do nothing better than any free versions. I recommend MSE (Microsoft Security Essentials) because it's free from bloat, minds it's own business and simply works.
Google Norton and their virus protection and you'll realise how difficult it is to remove it sometimes. In the case of Norton, they provide an extra remove tool, which suggests the un-installer doesn't actually un-install all of the program.copper2sulphate wrote: »I feel that it's only fair that we are allowed to cancel the purchase if we are not satisfied with it.
Whether we receive a physical item or a "virtual good"
But if you've used the code and registered it, then you've "used" the product. Think of it as breaking the seal on something. No company would accept it back and despite it being easy, no company will "un-register" a serial number.0
