Sky B/B

Hi guys,
Doing some homework ahead of the first aniversary of my sky b/b renewal.
Currently I have a telephone provided by BT (pay rental in advance) calls minimal but use a 18185 now and then - when I do have the need. Get my b/b from sky (ex O2 customer paying nothing for the previous year as an O2 customer and just £5 per month this past year when I migrated to Sky). I do not have a sky TV subcription.
B/b after a poor start has been stable and reliable but the question is, can I do better cost wise? BT/Sky combination can be changed as the contracts end at roughly the same time.
Grateful for any thoughts.

If you are getting u/limited bb from Sky for £5 pm WITHOUT line rental, calls and TV you did very well in last year's negotiations!! -can't see Sky repeating that this year -I think it will go up substantially.
Are you on an exchange where there are LLU suppliers ??(unbundled)
Check using Samknows website :
https://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange_search
If you are, the best deals are available if you go for a combined line rental/calls/bband package HOWEVER you will not be able to pay ALR with Sky and also will not be able to use 18185 directly.
If you aren't on an unbundled exchange then look at Plusnet packages. You can still get an advanced line rental deal and use 18185.0 -

My friend got exactly that deal when she phoned to ask for her MAC.
She was on £5pm with BT line rental and no TV since moving from O2. She is still on £5pm for another year.0 -
Thanks for the replies. Yes there are llu operators. The exchange is Bishops Stortford. The only thing l was concerned about was being able to move on after a year with all my eggs in one basket, so to say. Is it easy? What should l look out for?
Although l would in many ways love to bin sky, the current arrangements work well and if l were to secure bb for another year at the same price point, l would stay put.
Anyway, assuming l have to move on, based on a Stortford exchange, what do you think guys?0 -
Not so, I got unlimited BB only for free last year, and have recently negotiated a deal of £5pm for another year.brewerdave wrote: »If you are getting u/limited bb from Sky for £5 pm WITHOUT line rental, calls and TV you did very well in last year's negotiations!! -can't see Sky repeating that this year -I think it will go up substantially.Stompa0 -

Last year i had free line rental and broadband from sky as a ex o2 customer. Just in the middle of negotiating at the moment. I have been offered 12 months fiber at £5 plus line rental and 6 months full cost. Told them i wasn't interested and they wanted to know what would get me to sign up today unfortunatly i was given the nod by the boss as my break had finished....0 -
Line rental and broadband from Sky will be cheaper than both from BT. if you transfer your line from BT you may be able to negotiate the free broadband being offered to new customers (ie new to line and broadband). They don't charge for caller display or 1471 and anytime call packages are only £5.0

Well I guess from their point of view, £5pm is better than losing a customer.Stompa0 -
Again, thanks for all the contributions. Should I opt to put my telephone AND bb eggs in the Sky basket so to say, what are the pitfalls should I not wish to continue with them in the future? For arguments sake, go back to BT plus another bb supplier? What about keeping my phone number? Grateful for a steer and apologies if these are dumb questions.0
