Scared to contact my long lost sisters - please help :(

I haven't got experience of this situation but it occured to me a letter from a third party could work quite well, not impersonal, but more of a simple explanation that you have been looking for them and contact information- that way they might not be overloaded, and curious to know more?

I discovered a cousin that I din't know anything about 2 years ago. She wrote to me enclosing a photo and some idea of her life. It took me a good while before I wrote back. so be prepared for a wait. I wan't sure if we would like each other and if I would be stuck with yet another relative who I would have nothing in common with. In fact i didn't write back until another cousin had been in contact with her. Anyway I am glad i finally did as she is a lovely person, very similar in nature to my mun and another aunty, even looks a lot like them both. We have only met up twice since but we live a long way from each other. however we e mail frequently and phone occasionally. So I would say write and then wait and see.
