Money saving? Yeah, right! All week my kids have been having a *snack* of those "Every Day Biscuits" ... today, d10yo comes home from school boasting how he shared 1 with his mates "Oi! Just a NIBBLE, Gannet!" - amazing how 1 biscuit can be share between soooo many "nibbles"!!!
Anyhow, alongside coming home telling me "Compliments to the Chef" - he then goes on to ask me if I have any dough left - yeppers - will I cook some up -
er .. yep! .... *insert Queenie slicing and baking pre-made biscuits* ... "Aww, cheers Mum! I'm going to sell those at Youth Club tonight!"
<
him
 <
me
"You can't do THAT! There are regulations etc., they have nuts in - I can't be sued because *you* took in some HM bikkies"
> d10yo - "Chill Mum! I'm going to make a MINT!"
:wall:
Well, you can't knock "enthusiasm" - so, I bake the final batch ...
... he takes them to Youth Club (local Church Hall)
The little TYKE!! He made .... £1.50 on TEN biscuits!!! (sold them 15p each).
Flip, flop!! They didn't cost that much to make!
Cheeky Blighter!
Now, do I let him continue in his little business (taking my own cut of the profits, naturally) or .... do I start MY OWN flipping business!!!??? (Clearly, home baked goods yield a certain profit margin, don't you think? LOL
C'mon, share your own experiences in your children's endeavours to "earn a few bob"

How about this for entreprenurial -
Many years ago I lived in a brand new house in the middle of a building site. It was a really warm summer and the builders were baking in the heat. My eldest, then 7, and a new pal across the road picked up all the empty pop bottles lying around the estate, washed them out in my kitchen - filled them with water (TAP mind, none of your fancy mineral water! didn't exist then) and stacked them high in MY fridge overnight.
Next day wait until day gets really hot and then off round the estate.
Initial outlay - 0p
1 bottle of tap water (cold) - 50p
deposit on bottle (honest
) - 10p (payable only once if you left the empty in a prearranged drop off point - just inside my garage door).
They made a stack of money!
Mmmm my lecky bill wasn't too clever come September but I let that go at the time.

Just last night my son found a recipe for skateboard wax on the net, so he melted down MY candles and MY soap to make some  then he used MY tupperware for moulds  He said, 'they worked quite well, think I'll make more and sell them

Going to make some of those bikkies later! my youngest son cleans cars with his mate, they charge £4 a car and have 6 regular customers, plus any others they grab while they're doing their regulars. Was a bit dubious at first, worried about safety, but most of the customers are in our street, so we know them.coffeebean0
