Hello, I have a similar question, i'm a newbee.
Hope someone can please clarify?
For the past few tax years I have paid the tax due for that tax year as well as the 1st payment on account in jan and july. I have then not subtracted this advance payment from the final tax due.
Therefore, have I overpaid tax? If so, can I subtract this amount from the tax due this year and pay any difference towards the advance payment?
thank you in advance
When you have submitted your tax return, wait a couple of days then look at your account, it will tell you how much is due.The only thing that is constant is change.0 -
thanks for your advice

I just checked with him and he said after he had entered everything it said "refund due to you" and he thought he should check before hitting the "Submit" button. In our case we used a small windfall to make a one-off cash contribution to his occupational pension and had not considered claiming back the tax until it popped up.

That is YES, right?0 -
I really should write down what I fill in every year!
'Have you made any income tax losses 13/14' - no I think
'Are you liable to pensions savings tax charges' - no I think
I pay into. A private pension scheme0 -
It is asking for untaxed and taxed uk interest
I've only ever filled in taxed uk interest from what I've been told? .
The untaxed interest is just my isa?0 -
I donated about 150 to charity. No idea if they were gift aid or not. Some were and some weren't?
Bit there's 3 boxes to fill in in section 4. Shall I just lump em in the first one:D0 -
Isa interest not included . If not gift aided don't include. There are 10 types of people in the world - those who understand binary and those who do not. :doh:0

Hmm
So if there another section to add non gift aided charity donations? ..otherwise may just leave the 150 out completely0
