    Had a spendy day.
Ooo elephants. There's a herd in the distance. Get your binoculars out. They're coming closer. Better not get too close because one of the bulls is looking very formidable - ahh I can see why... His misses is pregnant. Better not let the Swedish chef near them otherwise we could end up with heffer steaks for dinner!!!

my husband has just been tell me some elephant jokes - don't blame the messenger!
What's grey and comes in buckets? Elephants!!!
How do you stop a herd of marauding elephants?
Make a trunk call and reverse the charge.

    Now for the dirty jokes...
What's the biggest drawback of the jungle?
    An elephant's foreskin!
Where are an elephant's sex organs?
On his feet because if he steps on your feet you are f#*ked!

Enough I hear you all say. Hope you all had a good day.

I forgot to ask you how it's going, sorry.I've had sciatica in the past and it's horrible.
Do you know to sit as little as possible,as it just aggravates it?In fact,it's the worst thing you can do.The best position is either lying on your back with a pillow under your knees or lying on your side with a pillow between your knees.
I was given an anti-inflammatory (Diclofenac) and a muscle relaxant (Valium). That and resting properly did the trick, though it does come back sometimes.
The drawback with mostly lying down all day and the Valium was that it completely messed up my sleep patterns,as I kept falling asleep.
    Hope you're getting better. :)

    zenshi get well soon.
  • First things first, confession time. My 2nd NSD turned out not to be one  but I have redeemed myself by getting 4 in a row for Friday, Saturday, yesterday and today so am up to 5 (target well and truly achieved there) :D

Things seem to be moving a bit quicker than I had planned with my mortgage and house purchase and it won't be long before I am finally on the housing ladder. I had a chat with the mortgage brokers before proceeding with the application and have been advised that I need to get my credit card under 2K before completion. This is obviously good news but the need to clear the whole amount before then has become an even bigger priority as I must start this new chapter in my life credit card debt-free. To assist in this, the cigarettes are going once I have finished this batch (I buy 200 at a time,) and then whenever I feel the urge I shall think about the credit card. Hopefully this will be a big enough incentive to keep going.

I am feeling very nervous about the whole thing but I can't rent forever as I am already worried about how I will afford to retire in 20 odd years paying rent. I could curse at the amount of money I have wasted over the years but have improved a lot with the help of this site so it's onwards and upwards from now on and fingers crossed everything goes to plan.
    NSD Challenge 2015: Jan 20 / 20 (2 x 5 in-a-row) / Feb 5 / 12 (4 in-a-row) :D

Lesson learnt from 2012: I cannot be trusted to credit card stooze!

    Barclaycard at 2 / 02 / 2015 [STRIKE]£4,600[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£4540[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£4250[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£4000[/STRIKE] £3250 need to pay it off by 08 / 2015 before mortgage completion

No NSD here but a few essentials - such as tin foil, a tiger loaf requested by OH (well it does fit in with this months theme :rotfl:) and some cheese for him.

Also picked up the pjs I got for my DN for Xmas 2015 :xmastree: Hope they fit her, they are age 3-4 and she'll be 5 next spring - but the next age was 5-6 and she's not that big.

Oh, and then picked up some Valentines chocs for OH tonight, don't normally do valentines but was in JL with my mum and they were quite sweet.

knit witch have you considered reflexology? One of our friends had sciatica (he's a foreman and not into anything like that normally) he tried it as a last resort and it worked for him.

CW know how you feel about the mortgage - and the spends over the years. I could cry at some of the £ that has been wasted, then gone on repayments, but no use crying over spilt milk. Had a look at some options for us over the weekend and it seems the monthly payments for 5% vs 10% deposit aren't that much different when you take into account the actually difference of the deposit size in £.

Unfortunately I have to sit! and I can't take either diclofenac or valium (really bad reaction to both of those), I'm at the physio on Wednesday so hopefully she can give me some help!

The diazapan/valium were what turned me into a space cadet (with a horrendous all over rash and went blind!!)
