Then as a human being you should be concerned for their welfare. People trafficking unfortunately is a fact of life these days. Report the matter to the correct authorities.

I agree with this. All jesting aside I'd be concerned about these women's welfare more than anything else. Prostitution doesn't particularly bother me, it's the oldest profession after all, and is more honest than some (living in Canary Wharf I'm sure some of your neighbours have far more dishonest ways of earning a crust. Fixing the LIBOR for example) but women and girls bring trafficked into the UK with no choice is horrific.
  • Thank you all for the replies and advice.

The girls do look fearful and appears to be the unwilling victims of human traffickers. The girls staying in the flat are rarely seen in the morning/afternoon and never make any contact with the neighbours. I have reported this to Crimestoppers and hopefully they will be able to help and put an end to this. It's very sad that human trafficking is still a fact of life these days. :(

The neighbours are all aware of this issue, so we are going to have a residential meeting next week to see what we can do to help.

Definitely a good call calling Crimestoppers if there is any suspicion of human trafficking.

  • ...and there are clearly prostituting going out on a daily basis. Sometime they would still be in their dressing grown when they show where the customer should park.

Good grief! My plumber arrived on Tuesday morning and I answered the door in my dressing gown and showed him where to park. I also received a parcel from Yodel this morning in my pyjamas!

I am now mortified in case the neighbours have me down as a lady of the night and I am the subject of coffee morning gossip up and down the street...

Oh no...you have to upgrade on that, as in you in your dressing gown and the workman that has turned up unexpectedly and is wandering round with you looks like he isn't wearing anything...

Now that's when you can really get to be the cause of gossip (shame the neighbour concerned didn't spot that his bottom half was clothed okay...he just hadn't got a top on because it was summer:rotfl:). She hasn't spoken to me since...:rotfl:

Anyways, good on OP for trying to sort this situation out to mutual benefit (ie the neighbourhood and trying to ensure the girls are okay too, as it doesn't sound as if they are doing this willingly from what has been said).

But just in case anyone is in doubt..

If I was you I'd expect to receive a strongly worded letter through the letterbox!
  • Phone the Police immediately... how do you know that those girls are there of their own free will? As other posters are saying as well, there are many implications with HMRC, Council Tax etc. There will be lots of different agencies that will be interested for many different reasons
