With respect, given the jovial way you've been responding to question asked, surely you have suspicions that the bids aren't actually real?

Personally I would get on to eBay PDQ and get them to pull the auction. In the past I would have suggested pulling it yourself, but nowadays you will be charged the FVF at 10% on the highest bid before auction was pulled.

Alternatively let it end Nd NPB the buyer.

Try eBay first though, this could well end up costing you in terms of time, if not money.

Have spoken to ebay and they have confirmed pretty much whats been said and have decided to let auction run and then go for the non paying option.

I am not anticipating spending 150k. As a MSEr I have a fairly realistic view of the world.

Would like to leave it up due to massive feedback requesting it more than the money. Any press money I have picked up has gone to charity although I have only spoken to one paper (and this will go out on Sunday).

Does anyone know if I can delete previously shared messages and then replace them with new ones as I have hit the limit and am being inundated for updates and more responses and have hundreds to send?

    Thanks

I am not colour blind but if I may take you back in time a few years to a point where I was standing next to a 8 month heavily pregnant hormonal female in the Southampton branch of Mothercare. She in turn was discussing this with several other even larger pregnant females and I was tuning it all out and trying to work out if Mothercare would be better with or without a lingerie section when I suddenly got asked 'What do you think?' I made the rookie error of staring into the eyes of the hungry hippos and saying 'whatever makes you happy' May you never be faced with the same situation

    Brilliant! NPB definitely! good luck!

    Thanks :)
Frustratingly I spent about 6 hours replying to a lot of these on the 22nd and despite sharing them, none have appeared.

I dont know if this is due to a limit on my inbox, sent items, or a limit per auction. Would ideally like to get them up there before the auction ends as I think they will be enjoyed.
Any tips on how to do this would be great.
    Thanks

It's up to you of course. Be warned though if the billing cycle works out against you then you could end up with a huge FVF bill and have to wait for the next billing cycle to get the credit back after the NPB.

Ebay is computerised, yes it is very amusing and without stories like this newspapers like the Daily Mail would have to get some real reporters, but this isn't toy town money and it might end up biting you in the rear

Journalism is reading and quoting from Twitter isn't it?

This story has made it to the BBC too, http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-hampshire-30895958

OP should be selling advice on making a story go viral, he'd have more than £150k in a few days.

It seems to be a bit of fun right now, and not terrible publicity for Ebay. It does bring up a problem at how poorly managed Ebay can be that they have been alerted to this and it is still running.

It went global Wednesday - as the link below shows in an amusing and surreal way.

Ebay are aware of my concerns and have several chat transcripts to show it, but as of yet are not being particularly proactive in addressing them.
