How would you handle this?

Evening all,
I have listed an item on ebay which has outperformed expectations in terms of pricing by a significant amount....

While all bidders are 50+ (100%) bidders with at least a years history I suspect a significant number of fake bids.

Am concerned about the astronomic fees if buyers fail to honour purchase next week.

Whats the best course of action.

Thanks in advance,

You'd get the FVF back/cancelled after a few days.
If it is possible that the bids are genuine, let it run, otherwise contact Ebay via Live Chat and see if they can see any wrong doing.

Ebay have looked and are saying all customers are genuine accounts. They wont contact customers direct for reasons of privacy....

    What do you think?

    eBay item number:131406614416

    Cheers

I think you know that you aren't going to be getting the money.

That's such a coincidence. I read the article on msn and didn't think the seller would be someone on MSE. The listing had me in stitches though, really loved the humour, especially some of the answers to the questions.

Outperformance is an understatement, but you can open a non-paying buyer case if they don't pay within 4 days of auction end date, which you should start getting ready to do :P

Assuming you're genuine in your request, I think you're on a forum somewhere and have been targetted for your description. It wants taking down, you should get in touch with Ebay again.

Seems a little pricey i put 100,000 tops.

I would have bid more but you failed to mention the MOT and tyre tread depth and when the brakes were last overhauled.

If they pay by Paypal, send it with tracking. :D
  • Whatever you do don't end the listing yourself because they will charge the FVF fee which would be £250! The options are call ebay, tell them you've been the target of hoax bids and can they remove the listing or wait for it to end and open a non paying bidder case.

I can't believe eBay have looked at this and not seen the problem.
