This is another taken straight from the BBC pitches but note they don't mention that the true public services (not TV) don't have any commercial alternatives
NO why can't you people realise WE DON'T WANT TO SUBSIDISE YOUR TELEVISION VIEWING HABBITS!
So you'd be more than happy to pay via subscription and everyone else has the choice then don't they
Well you'd have more say if it went subscription wouldn't you
Bangs head on wall at the arrogant attitude of the pro tv tax people who just refuse to accept we don't want to be forced into paying for their beloved BBC
Oh and please don't extract the urine by trying to say paying by general taxation would be free.
I'd love to see some of the IP ranges here because I'd bet money some are within the BBC range
I enjoy much (but not all) of the BBC's output. I also watch other channels. I and others on this thread have already given reasons for keeping the TV licence fee, although you have conveniently chosen to ignore them. I don't know any of the other posters on this thread by the way.
I have to say, it's pretty difficult to take you seriously with your shrill ranting, and your boasts about TV licence evasion (unless it's still paid for by your mum, which would explain a lot).still a SF nerd no.1:o
Quit date: 03/09/2006 ----> £1,000s not spent on tobacco(21/03/2010).:D0 -

Oh dear someone seems to be upset at me not wanting to pay for them to watch the BBCsquirreltufty wrote: »I enjoy much (but not all) of the BBC's output. I also watch other channels. Yes a selfish minority who wish us to pay for it because they have their own selfish reasons and of course they know whats best for the majority :rolleyes:squirreltufty wrote: »I have to say, it's pretty difficult to take you seriously with your shrill ranting, and your boasts about TV licence evasion (unless it's still paid for by your mum, which would explain a lot).
It's not boasting its a fact your Capita salespeople have no real power its all scare tactics to earn commision which is £40 a pop. Anyway I'm glad I hit a nerve & its about time you lefies started paying your own way0 -

Perhaps you just don't realise you are one which would explain why someone has come to expect millions of people to pay for something you happen to like :rolleyes:0 -

You've given reasons why you're happy to pay one-fifth of what Al-BBC actually costs, but none is necessarily valid for anyone else. If you had to pay the whole cost of £700 a year, would you still be happy to do so? This is the key point. If you would, then you should do so, and nobody but Al-BBC's fans need pay for it any more. If not, then all you are saying is that you want your TV viewing habits subsidised by others and they can all go hang if they don't like it.
That attitude - a sense of entitlement to subsidy from everybody else - finished off the miners, the shipbuilding industry, and Rover, and it will eventually finish off Al-BBC too.0 -

you said that you have not paid a TV licence for 18 years. (I think that is what you said)
Do you not have a TV or have some sort of exemption, e.g you have proved to the authorities that you never use it to receive signals. We all evolve - get on with it0 -
I have some sympathy with those who say they do not watch BBC and therefore should not pay a licence fee BUT what about all the other public services that they may or may not use but they still pay for out of local or national taxation?
for example: public parks, public conveniences, museums, libraries, schools, hospitals etc. Are they going to opt out of these as well?
not really a great example - at one point in our lives we need parks, public conveniences, museums, libraries, schools, hospitals, etc whether its a need of as a child, adult, OAP or part of everyday life.
apart from those who work for the BBC, no one can say they NEED BBC.
going home now - see you all Monday - have a gudun!!!0
