Why do companies talk like that?

A lot of what you are saying resonates with things I see with ds2. I am at the start of a long learning curve with Aspergers, I am still learning to read things he does and how best to advise and guide him. His diagnosis means that school is now realising that he is not simply a clumsy little know all (this was how it seemed he was being treated for his first three years at school) but I worry that his personality is at risk of being drilled out of him. He is so natural and unconcerned...I would love him to retain that.
All I can do is trust my instincts and be guided by the professionals who have more experience of the condition. Your insight is very helpful, I have so many worries for his future but he is such a bright little boy I actually think that some aspects of his condition could benefit him as he goes through life...I am certainly no authority on the subject though
:rotfl::rotfl:Happy to be a clumsy little know all!:D:rotfl::o:o:rotfl:
Not really - I mean I ought not to add those embarrassments:eek:.
I'm happy to be a clumsy little know all.:D There! It's true:p:rotfl:.
But, seriously, best of luck to you. I don't know about a long-learning curve as such with myself as I was only diagnosed in (well into) adulthood. No-one else really knew (or maybe they did but didn't tell me, such is the way with normal people's reticence about discussing someone's potential medical condition with them - I can see why, in that context, they didn't do so now) - but just treated me as they found me, a bit like everyone, though I was a bit odd - but in no bad way and actively wanted to be odd as well in some sense. I don't know because, if no-one knew (as was the case back with me, certainly with my immediate homelife) then they didn't change their behaviour or way they deal with you because of their own knowledge, instead (probably) just went on and treated you 'as normal'. I think perhaps that's sometimes the best thing to do.
Clearly though, it has a spectrum and some people are more 'severe', so maybe there are things to do. I suspect your son will also start learning/being taught about social skills as well now (people generally don't need to be taught) - as regards me, I'm long-in-the-tooth and well past any useful intervention, I feel, in that regard - I've gone through (been going through, and hopefully continue for as many years as possible through) life and sort of learned by experience, what works, what does not, oops I said something that didn't go down well, best not say such a thing in future, and perhaps they'll teach your son how to read body language now - but, with me, I've never learned it, don't want to, it would just create an unnecessary thing to worry about for me, I go on through life without and it doesn't cause too many issues - have heard that when people actively have to read body language, it can be so exhausting and need a long rest from it after social conversation. Me, I just am who I am:).
I don't know if I'd call myself an "authority" - certainly I have it, so can speak from personal experience, of how it affects me, from that respect (no authority on how other people with it are affected by it - or, indeed, no authority on how "normal" people perceive anything). I'm probably too modest to call myself an "authority", but certainly it is one of my 'special interest' areas, on and off, and I probably know more about some parts of it than some experts:D (but I wouldn't admit to or claim that!). I probably am an authority though. On everything:rotfl::rotfl:. I'm not "qualified" - as in formal educational qualifications in autism spectrum disorders research etc. But then I don't need to be. An "unqualified authority":D:D:rotfl:. Or not.0 -
If you're not fed up of Dr O's :rotfl:
They have Try Me Free flashed boxes out just now.
One per household, max £2.99 claim, but there must be scope to get a pizza for £2.99 odd and get back £1.50 or so on a comparison shopApparently, everybody knows that the bird is [strike]the word[/strike] a moorhen0 -
But I always thought if you divide by zero then you have the imaginary +/- infinity
btw i've removed your workings
Imaginary numbers come into play when you have the square root of a negative number. "Normal" maths tells us that isn't possible.
You would say the answer tends towards infinity if you are dividing by a really really tiny number.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. Sorry to quote again.
You're right - it can be a gift and does have its advantages. (I was going to write "...does have its benefits" but wanting to avoid any confusion i.e. that "benefits" could have meant "social security benefits" (I don't mean that!).)
It has its downsides - but, for me, the way I'm affected, yes there are downsides, but the advantages far outweigh them and it is one of the few conditions that, for some people, in that respect, is a desirable thing to have. I know that some people with it would vehemently dispute that, being affected to a different degree probably, but I only speak for myself. It does allow me great analytical skills and always analysing behaviour of others (RL that is, not on here) which I admit can be an enjoyable pastime and gives me much 'never ceases to amaze me' bemusement that I enjoy. Then again, we all analyse - or criticise, away from them - other people and other 'normal' people are bizarre to 'normal' people sometimes. When at work, I heard workplace gossip about others and criticisms of their behaviour, obviously somewhat bizarre to the critic, all the time (not literally!). For now, certainly, I'm 'happy in life with where I'm going', although I'm not sure where I am going to be honest!:)0 -

I'm thinking L 'Oreal Elvive Smooth & Polish Conditioner 250ml could be a trigger in the 2 FOR £4.00 range.
http://groceries.asda.com/asda-webstore/landing/home.shtml#/product/910000999869
All the other L 'Oreal Elvive 250ml shampoo and conditioners are included in the 2for£4 mb except this one.
Would need to check in store.
Unfortunately, no brilliant comparisons.
