What time was the shop done Savvy?

Interested as this might possibly give us the opportunity of doing some back to front glitching. I'm pretty sure the Homeprides were 98p each up until the price changed yesterday because I remember thinking that A were going to make us buy more items to get a worse deal.

Just wondering when the actual prices at the till change over on a Wednesday morning and if it is the same in every store?

Is it possible going forward that if we see cheap items going into a less attractive offer that we sneak in and buy them at the good cheap price and then benefit from the price comparison of the new offer?

Something to think about and potentially another way of spotting a glitch.;)

    Ten past 11am yesterday.

(Then again, you managed to have £3.48 Pepsi price of the previous day right through the afternoon and into the evening:D. Well done you (gritted teeth:mad::rotfl::rotfl:;)).)

That thing of getting us to buy more (for a worse deal) will be successful with most people - they don't see things that we do, don't have any knowledge of or general attention to past pricing, don't plan their shops to attempt to time in with best offers and tend to just pay the 'asking price' every time. It might stop them getting the odd thing if it is way out of their price league, that they think is way too high... but you can bet they'll pick up more items that look to be good offer prices (including prices on red backgrounds that aren't offers at all*) that more than make up for the loss of the sale of the high-priced item. And people must think that 2 for £3 prices are good prices on sauces, besides often picking up just one and missing the mbuy (especially if the 'saving' is small - e.g. £1.59 or 2 for £3) - aggregate that over - it's 18p more for every two bought across the store by customers that buy only one. People more generally must think 2 for £3 is good as they are often on such offers across different retailers. People don't have time and do not remember prices on lots of items and switches of offers.

*One of my recent favourites was a red background £1.20-something (I pay not much attention to high prices;)) on some Flash liquid that had been 86p the previous week in M. The offer was supposed to have gone on for a further two weeks as well, but they didn't - it changed to higher price, just like it were an offer:rotfl:).

I saw that, but assume that HRT paid £1.58 for 1 jar and that is how it compared. Funny thing is I probably missed her this morning as we both shop in the same store.

How did you get on with the Doritos?

Oh, surprise. That "useless" receipt, with the Cathedral and grapes on it, turns out to be cheaper at T!:T:T So, it's actually another £2 or so back.

Although the grapes did lose a little, fortunately the particular Cathedral is on 'special' offer in T. Instead of being a loss, some baby medicinal products turn out to have been bought and both to be cheaper in T (every little helps...:rotfl:). It does help when an item is at least £1 cheaper elsewhere, to help mitigate their reckless purchases like Diet Pepsi (no, not that one).

And the shopper obviously unaware of the Creme Eggs earlier. Never mind - I suppose if they really wanted the MaltEaster bunny with it...

But, typical for that to make a show once the previous 'offer' (that we had) for Cadbury's Creme Egg is over.

So, there you are - you just never know: what seems to be the rubbish-iest receipt and it turns out not to be. Then, I've had ones that looked good but weren't.

In fact, that's the best one I've had to date from that particular small store!:j:j

I did have a nice £4.70 odd from another small store (one of their Supermarkets) in the past. Although, technically, I didn't find it on the supermarket premises - instead, by chance, I'd got out of my car to have a short walk to the store... and there it was, at the very edge of one of the business premises by the road, a little way off from the store - I would never have looked that way if I had driven past in my car. That's my best ever from a Supermarket. Still not quite got double figures from the main stores - I've come close a few times, but not yet got the £10 or over.
