I see someone has already pointed you in the direction of entitled to. Citizens advice might be a good place to go as well, they can give advice about benefits, and also about employment law as to whether he can just be laid off with no notice.
Is your friends OH a member of a Union at all?

When someone is charged, the charge/s is read out to them, then they are asked to sign the charge sheet. Obviously they can refuse to sign, but that doesn't make any difference, as they are still charged.
It wouldn't be right of me to comment on anything else, but in terms of the process, there doesn't seem to be anything amiss unless there is something else you haven't mentioned?
I have to say that I had previously worked very closely with police for a number of years, and have always been extremely impressed by their professional approach to an investigation, and their ability to remain polite and most of the time remain empathetic and understanding. I have never seen any police officer be disrespectful even in the face of horrendous circumstances.
I think our police force does a wonderful job and I am flipping glad we have them, but nothing and no one is 100% perfect.
I struggle with the culture of disrespecting anyone who is a police officer, as I have found that the person being disrespectful is the first person on the phone asking for the police to help them.
ooh holy hell, I am getting off my soap box!
ps sorry if I have repeated a rant of someone else, but I am reading and catching up! x100 -

This doesn't seem to be on msm.
I think this was first reported not working here...Deleted_User wrote: »What trigger worked? I tried Secret Smile and Secret something else and were both showing

I've never yet got a completely random item in a cc or hd order. Best I've managed was four parsnips when I only ordered one. I live in hope of getting something unexpected.0

I reckon I should cut that out and frame it! Not often anyone has anything nice to say about us!
I guess its like anything though, people are always quick to point out the bad stories, but you don't often hear of the good.
Police are human, just like the rest of us, and like you rightly say, no-one is 100% perfect. Unfortunately there are always going to be a few bad apples, its the same in any profession, but obviously when those details come out we all get tarred with the same brush.
I follow the very simple rules of treating people how I would like myself or a member of my family to be treated. Generally seems to work, and often has a far better effect than being aggressive or arsey, as its much more difficult to be horrible to someone when they're being nice to you.0
