I have to say that I had previously worked very closely with police for a number of years, and have always been extremely impressed by their professional approach to an investigation, and their ability to remain polite and most of the time remain empathetic and understanding. I have never seen any police officer be disrespectful even in the face of horrendous circumstances.

I think our police force does a wonderful job and I am flipping glad we have them, but nothing and no one is 100% perfect.

I struggle with the culture of disrespecting anyone who is a police officer, as I have found that the person being disrespectful is the first person on the phone asking for the police to help them.

ooh holy hell, I am getting off my soap box!

ps sorry if I have repeated a rant of someone else, but I am reading and catching up! x

They're just like everyone else really. Plenty of good uns who are a credit to the service, but plenty who abuse the uniform too!
I've seen plenty of disrespect/intimidation/fabrication/being judgemental of others of others from the police to innocent people, but then again I've seen great compassion/loyalty and respect.

    Nobody is perfect !

Thank you so much Strewth. I've sent that over.

It's times like this I wish I lived closer so I could go over with a bottle of wine and make them dinner.

It's a couple of hours away by train so maybe i'll suggest a visit when the dust has settled.... :(

Determined to be as helpful as I can be

I'm sure they know you care and would be there in person if you could :A I've actually found that because oh was on a low wage anyway his reduced hours have made no difference to our income... we were being topped up by working tax credits on 42 hours and still are being topped up to the same amount (including housing and tax benefits) now that his hours are reduced.

Oh is doing college courses as well as working so reduced hours suit at the minute anyway. He was frazzled doing 42 hours plus college and coping with my shopping demands as I don't drive lol. Good job he is a laid back kinda bloke :o

I'm sure your friend appreciates you being at the end of the phone for her :)

I've never yet got a completely random item in a cc or hd order. Best I've managed was four parsnips when I only ordered one. I live in hope of getting something unexpected.

I got chocolate digestives today instead of chocolate fingers, not a problem but they looked rubbish on ohs birthday cake as I was doing the one pd posted :rotfl:

pd thanks the recipe was brilliant especially the icing never done one like that before and everyone enjoyed it :T
