I managed a shop earlier and... can you believe my big A store had no individual Extra Strong mints packs at all?!? Absolutely none:(. I even checked through every staffed till at the side and ... none at all! And none by CS at the front of the store either!

I was trying to compare vs Sains. 2 for 80p, with wine gums trigger. I'm sure this store deliberately moves or goes conveniently OOS on items that compare good vs elsewhere! Just cannot believe they had no Extra Strong Mints whatsoever and, of course, I needed that to be at my 8 items and they were thwarting my shopping! They had plenty of other 3 for £1 sweets items that aren't in S's offer - no problem stocking all those:mad:! Wouldn't have made sense to drive to another A as the amount I'd have saved would have been outstripped by the petrol cost. Neither did I want to add another item and be paying more over the cost of my voucher. This time, fortunately I had decided to go for Rowntree's Pastilles. Then I spotted a single Softmints Peppermint was actually in the store receptacle even though it looked initially like there were no products there. So, at last:mad:, I had my three items mix - Pastilles, S/mints Peppermint and Wine Gums - and my 9 items in total. (This one - good job I had Fruit Pastilles and knew that they and the Trebors were in the S offer otherwise I would have been left without any to get 8 items - this is one where I would have needed to take the list of S items in the offer with me and know which of those are in the A 3 for £1 offer, as I never remember the full range of items and get confused about what is in what offer.)

    Anyway...

For those needing a vs S shop and with S being expensive on most of its S/P equivalent range, the loose broccoli may be a good item for a S comp. It compares £1.38/kg vs £1.40/kg S - A not 10% cheaper - and here the price for S rounded down:
0.3 x ASDA Broccoli by Weight per kg£0.42£0.42

I know we decided earlier the prepacked 335g Broccoli was better price per unit, as it's often more than 335g. However, if you don't need as much as a 49p broccoli, then I feel the loose would be a good option. It makes the items on a Sainsbobs comp. You can't get the 335g Broccoli on such a shop as it compares 49p vs 60p:eek:.

That loose broccoli compared 42p vs 42p at T, S and W. The only place to which it does not compare (returns N/A) is the place that is the cheapest competitor. Loose Broccoli Crown £1.39/kg in M - does not compare!:(:rotfl: Just to clarify - A is the cheapest of all, but the cheapest competitor, of those that are included in the APG scheme, is M ... and the APG collectors have never picked it up there as far as I know!

As the loose is not as good price per unit, if your actual 335g Broccoli would be somewhat more, probably works out the same as using a loose banana and losing the 10% on that when on vs S:(:rotfl:!

Who on earth would get three S/P items on their shop and happen to get this mix of S/P items though, all of which are coincidentally comparing vs not 10% cheaper than Sainsbobs?:rotfl::

1 x ASDA Smartprice Rubber Gloves Medium (2)£0.46£0.30
    1 x ASDA Smartprice Vanilla Cones (4x100ml)£0.75£0.45
1 x ASDA Smartprice Medium Sliced White Bread (800g)£0.40£0.40

Loose broccoli is good for a Sainsbobs comp. (roughly same price A and S), but 335g prepacked compares 49p vs 60p:eek:.

There you are - the gist:D. In one short post where it can be seen rather than being in all that text of information.

Popped to Ms on the school run earlier and 16 packets of biscuits may have thrown themselves into my basket and I may have accidentally paid for them :o

So the biscuits don't really work anymore?...

DH just shook his head when I told him :rotfl:

Popped into A earlier with a small womble, and bought one packet of Fox's Jam 'n Cream biscuits and some whoopsies to make up voucher value, and paid... nothing!! Well, I paid the voucher and 'lost' the voucher amount, but... easily replaced I feel.

To replace the pack the people that live with me opened earlier, that was supposed to last till September:(:(. And, of the pack they opened, I've now allowed them to use it and... just 2 biscuits left:(!:rotfl: The plenty with dates before then have now been pointed out to them, and rationed into months:D:D.

    I got 20 packets of biscuits earlier, so don't need 16 more:eek:!

My Jam 'n Cream in A was now BB October, so, did a bit better!:D:)

If you could just expand upon this that would be great :rotfl:

edit: I did enjoy reading the whole broccoli saga :D

Bold 888ml's looks good until 6am'ish

£1.40 each post-apg when bought in 2's when competitor is £4... remember v M is more risky.

Orange blossom doesn't have a good comparison.

My OH borrowed my car this morning, I took DS1 car OH had a puncture. tonight I went to Ts and at stopping at a junction a can of de-icer rolled right past my feet and lodged itself under my brake pedal :eek:So I couldn't stop at the junction! :o I performed a ver nifty handbrake turn and my car and the house are intact......my OH isn't!! he chucked the de-icer can in the back forgetting that the car has nothing to stop it rolling forward

is it just me or is it very frosty? :o:p :rotfl:

Sorry, it's just taking too long to go through the wombles on here, but I have whatever I have from them - I'm at the point at which it just goes beyond being productive and doesn't achieve anything:(. So, I'm going to bed, sorry about that.

I'll be back in M later today to see what I find.

    Bye for now.:wave::)

As next best, I've incorporated some of it into the M list - S/P Meatballs in Tom. Sc for example not comparing vs M. I thought this had become risky - they are available in M (I have two stores with stock) but they are OOS in some stores. So, no 10% available. Large womble (over £100 spent) with quite a number of S/P items - all wasted as the overall comp. gives a small return vs Waities!:(:rotfl:

It's also drawn my attention to a mistake in my own list!:eek: So, I'm off to amend that slightly now - APG is correct, I [Strike]am[/Strike] was not - I did a very slight weight adjustment that I should not have done, so not too far out (it's slightly in our favour, by about 4p:( if the mbuy works - which I can't confirm as my shopper bought just one:wall::rotfl:). And, with that done, goodnight and see you later!:D:)

EDIT: Was not. I was not, but I am now!:D
