Does anyone know any product to get rid of sticky stuff on glass.
I have had one of those fly catcher things stuck on my conservatory window, and I have removed it but left a big square of sticky mess, and I cant shift it.
Try WD40 followed by hot soapy water, rinse and repeat. Work the WD 40 in to get the sticky stuff to clag together, then work in a good squirt of washing up liquid and wash it off with hot water. Or you could try nail varnish remover.
EDIT or you could just read all the posts before this one :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:Hope is not a strategy.0 -
The Alan Barnes fund is continuing to grow, the website is now showing £309k, which I assume is net of fees. It's lovely to see, I just hope it doesn't overwhelm him.
Sending you a hug Snap, this time will pass. xxHope is not a strategy.0 -

I like to keep under the radar but this is a tricky one for me, a return of about £15 means that I try to spend about £20 to make it less conspicuous, SA's around here are a bit suspicious about anything over a tenner:think:

hi fred,
i know what you mean, but i also bought a dvd which dosen't show on APG0 -
:hello:As regards the Morries price collection, a bit of an underwhelming visit in M. Many of the 'half price' offers in the frozen sections are now off and the 2 for £1.50 on Royal Gala apples packs has moved onto the Braeburn packs instead. However, there may be some older packs of Gala with the mbuy pricing still on them.
The only things to mention (and they're hardly worth mentioning) are the 8 can Pepsi cans at £2.19 which is quite an expensive 'half price' and never gets onto the list on that. Otherwise, the Pringles are at £1.24:rotfl:. Told you it was underwhelming and I'd rather the heaters had been put up more - some of the store, even the back, was freezing cold.
The main issue this time is with the RTC tins and jars that have been on excellent prices. Several of them do appear to be disappearing; though they are still around in some stores, you may find them OOS. My hunch is that the Sweet Piccalilli finally picked up the 15p price but that, if it did, it will go N/A tomorrow. I think these items are to become riskier now. Not that they haven't already been risky when, as far as we know, the Piccalilli only ever picked up full price. I'd be buying in M - but you may now find no stock there.
I visited my As on my round trip between the Ms. There were no Rice Krispies Honeycomb Crunch at all on my store shelves (and showing OOS on msm, whether or not they did before), so I couldn't get them. I still did a shop though, of those essential items we need once again. Wombles very scarce indeed and it was no good with the sweepers being out. I suspect my own shop will be the best one again:(. I need all the help I can get. I didn't go out over the weekend at all as I was sorting out the problem I had.
There were no "More points" signs showing on any of the Fox's in my first main store - and I didn't bother checking in all my stores. Really not on though is it - if they were up when you shopped, they are there, as an inducement to purchase and, if you take up their offer and purchase any specific ones with labels on them (at least if the label contains an expiry date that has not yet passed), you expect to get what they promise.
You never know - some new items may appear on the list as usual, as and when I go through.0 -

fairclaire wrote: »As I've said, it purely my opinion. I've had my eyes opened much wider recently since starting this new job. Some of the people that are using the services provided are struggling in all sorts of ways including financially. Some of the programmes currently running are teaching people how to grow their own food and providing them with the equipment and facilities needed to do so, teaching People how to meal plan and create nutritious meals for not much money and most importantly helping people to budget and use what little money they have effectively.......something that everyone here knows is possible.
I agree that food banks have their place and are sadly needed. I do think however, if people want to 'give' to help the people that unfortunately need to use them, schemes like those mentioned above will help people more in the long term. Food banks just plug the gap temporarily. I'd personally like to see more resources being put into educating people to survive without the need for help from food banks. Ambitious?.....maybe? But the project I'm working on is succeeding and on a far bigger scale than anyone could have expected and I hope that funding for far more similar schemes can be made available in a lot more areas.
Totally agree with you there.
Sadly a lot of the older generation who knew how to do these things have passed away.I'm sure in the long run educating people in these type of skills is the way forward. This is what a lot of us were saying about the blog mentioned the other day.0
