As I've said, it purely my opinion. I've had my eyes opened much wider recently since starting this new job. Some of the people that are using the services provided are struggling in all sorts of ways including financially. Some of the programmes currently running are teaching people how to grow their own food and providing them with the equipment and facilities needed to do so, teaching People how to meal plan and create nutritious meals for not much money and most importantly helping people to budget and use what little money they have effectively.......something that everyone here knows is possible.

I agree that food banks have their place and are sadly needed. I do think however, if people want to 'give' to help the people that unfortunately need to use them, schemes like those mentioned above will help people more in the long term. Food banks just plug the gap temporarily. I'd personally like to see more resources being put into educating people to survive without the need for help from food banks. Ambitious?.....maybe? But the project I'm working on is succeeding and on a far bigger scale than anyone could have expected and I hope that funding for far more similar schemes can be made available in a lot more areas.

You should look up some Permaculture projects FC, they have been doing this exact thing for a number of years now.

There are some very humbling projects abroad Nepal/Cuba spring to mind that have been very successful. Have to go now but see if I can find some links later.

    Morning everyone.

I've caught up overnight. As someone who sometimes posts abouts this stuff, I can't help but feel a lot of it was aimed in my direction :o

I know you're all nice people. You don't need to post about things you do for me to know that you do them. I sometimes do because charity stuff has become a bigger part of my life than it used to be and I've always felt able to share my life on here. It does make me happy. And sometimes, when glitchy items are involved, I thought you'd all like to know where's it's gone. It's a fascination of mine, in the same way I like to see a tower of loo roll :o

I'm really sorry if my posts have irritated you guys. It has NEVER been my intention to show-off or guilt trip anyone into anything :( As I've said on FB, I post pictures of whatever makes me happy, gives me purpose etc etc. Sometimes it's a picture of my lunch, a beautiful sunset, or a link to a page where you can vote to get a charity some money. I don't discriminate.

I think, like FC, I might take a little break. Reading back has made me feel a bit sick.

Hope you all have wonderful Mondays xx

You keep on posting sweetheart, I'm sure nothing was aimed at you and we love hearing about what you're up to. Sometimes people just need to vent a bit . xx

Afternoon all. The Clubbercise sounds fab, I messaged my friend and she asked whether it involved drinking as well. Bagsy 2 places on the back row for Jules and the Lutz! :rotfl:
    Hope is not a strategy.

    HELP

Does anyone know any product to get rid of sticky stuff on glass.

I have had one of those fly catcher things stuck on my conservatory window, and I have removed it but left a big square of sticky mess, and I cant shift it.

Try something like a cheap perfume or aftershave - the alcohol in it should remove the sticky residue if you spray and leave it for a minute or two then wipe away (of course you could just use alcohol itself! :p)

I would not be without a bottle of Sticky stuff remover. It is fantastic, especially good at getting those awful sticky labels off of plastic food containers. You can buy sticky stuff remover in B&Q
