Maybe not popularbut I just say what others are thinking? it's fine to be giving stuff to the food banks and I'm sure they welcome it......but has anyone ever stopped to think how utterly condescending they sound?? I have free biscuits.....I won't eat them so I'll give them to the food bank. Seriously folks, if you have been involved with the people who really need food banks ( not the ones that take the !!!!) you wouldn't dare be so condescending :-( why should someone be grateful for 'fillers' that you wouldn't dare eat yourself?
this has bugged me lately. in my experience food bank users are no better or worse than us. they are people who have fallen on hard times. Could be you or I? so why do they deserve the stuff that isn't good enough for you?
Probably one of the most pathetic posts I have seen on here. The fact that you posted pretty much the same comment in 3 different posts says to me you are looking to cause unrest on here. I think you actually instigated the last major disagreement on the thread regarding APG details (based on a comment by Henrik iirc) when it wasn't necessary.
But as per usual it will be all turned around and the newbies and AE's will be blamed for upsetting the thread.
No one should be ever shamed of donating to charity or doing charity work. Why shouldn't people comment on what they have done or donated.
I never knew what a food bank was until I started reading this thread, so I was educated on this by people actually posting about it as others may have been. I am not a person who donates to charity but I don't take issue with people who do.
Look at 4dogs and EMMAP who have done, imo, some excellent charity work/donations and posted the results/pictures on here. Are they condescending? Or is your view just selective?
On another note on posts during the night. Most people actually welcome and encourage newbies but then others seem fit to ridicule the questions they ask. Why? If you are that offended by it ignore the question and let some of the helpful people on the thread answer it.
When I found this thread the bilge used to grate on me but I understand now how it keeps the thread moving etc but the comments last night regarding people wanting to talk about shopping on the "night shift" is petty at best.0 -
Morning everyone.
I've caught up overnight. As someone who sometimes posts abouts this stuff, I can't help but feel a lot of it was aimed in my direction
I know you're all nice people. You don't need to post about things you do for me to know that you do them. I sometimes do because charity stuff has become a bigger part of my life than it used to be and I've always felt able to share my life on here. It does make me happy. And sometimes, when glitchy items are involved, I thought you'd all like to know where's it's gone. It's a fascination of mine, in the same way I like to see a tower of loo roll
I'm really sorry if my posts have irritated you guys. It has NEVER been my intention to show-off or guilt trip anyone into anythingAs I've said on FB, I post pictures of whatever makes me happy, gives me purpose etc etc. Sometimes it's a picture of my lunch, a beautiful sunset, or a link to a page where you can vote to get a charity some money. I don't discriminate.
I think, like FC, I might take a little break. Reading back has made me feel a bit sick.
Hope you all have wonderful Mondays xx
Why would you think anything is aimed at you personally? Nothing I post is aimed at anyone in particular. It's purely my opinion and I always say so when I post. Just as what you post is your opinion. As someone said earlier, it's good that people can have differing opinions and post them here in a grown up away. And if we all had the same opinions about things then it would be a rather boring place. Taking part in conversations with so many different characters will always mean you seeing an opinion you disagree with, or you don't like.
There seems to be a reluctance to post honest opinions here at times in case it causes 'aggro'. Why should it? You can respect others opinions without agreeing with them. I have always sort of thought that's what forums were all about?........a place for different people to give their own views in things?0
