  • Ok but I know for a fact I am not earning enough to be taxed and I already have a tax code for my part time job and I know how much I am earning there.

If you buy a suit on an MF shop I don't understand what is has got to do with the IR as you are buying it with your own money. Let's face it MF wouldn't reimburse you for a suit :)

The point Graeme was making is that you cannot claim more than the reimbursement as expenses from the inland revenue. So if you get £10 for an assignment, with £2 of that being a reimbursement. you can only deduct the £2 even if you spend £5. So profit to declare would be £10, less £2, less travelling expenses and any printing costs.
  • thanks

I think I see but I am not used to doing it so it will be a learning process.

I did my first audit job today and that was tricky.

Any one else in here live in or regularly visit Cornwall? If so it might be worth contacting The Silent Customer - they are looking for people to eat in a certain celebrity chef's 'fishy' restaurants in the area. Can't wait!!

I'm yet to do an audit job; can you advise how you found it tricky?
  • yes, trying not to look conspicuous marking off a paper form which had very narrow rows and inevitably hard to see where ticks were. next time I would put numbers in rather than ticks. Staff around where I was etc. nerve racking.

You will, after a while, learn that you can get away with blue murder in many large shops/supermarkets.
  • Does anyone know if the A company did any cinema gold spot checks in January?
  • Lawmate EVO2 Issue....

I have just bought one and am not 100% happy with the sound quality of my recordings.

There is a feint "chugging" noise in the background which sounds a bit like a helicopter in the distance.

I wonder if anyone else has experienced this and how you went about resolving it?

Yes! First time I'd been offered it for ages.
