I've had hugely positive mystery shopping experiences with all but one company going by the initials "AA". I won't be doing shops for them again, without much regret seeing as they pay about half what everybody else does!

Have you read tons of pages on this thread re the company? Some MS still work for them as there are small fee visits in shopping centres which aren't bad if you are in the area. I stopped working for them a while ago.

You definitely need to keep a record of what visits you do, for whom and what the fee was. I have only had one example where having applied for a visit the fee was then lowered and that was with Retail Active and a stationery store. They may have made an error on the listing but instead of honouring the fee that reduced it without so much as a word of explanation. I would fight the non payment decision. It was not your fault there was no one else in the store. What MSC is it?

It was with Market Force. dont think I'll be doing covert shop audits with them again. If it is checking the stock levels you really would stand out if there were no other customers and you're within your specified time frame.

Tizzy79 or anybody else shoppping with Gap, how do you contact them if you cannot submit a report due to the technical errors? I have tried and tried today to submit my first questionnaire and I'm getting the same error message ' Rule #314 : Minimum 50 characters. Please note box size is 200 characters long or approximately 40 words.' this form is such a pain!
I have written more than 100 words and have this error for the 3 more questions which require commentary.
Apparently if I dont submit it today they wont pay me. have emailed them, could not find the phone number anywhere.

Sumarise the key points. Then it should go through.
  • Keep your comments very brief, less than 50 characters and it will be fine.

I had to buy a very expensive beauty item for an ESA assignment, they will reimburse me for the lot but do you think it's OK if i take it back for a refund (to a different branch)

It's a nice product but i could do with the cash

I'm not sure about double dipping with the retailer as they are already refunding you. I'd try and sell on another way.

If brief states you cannot take it back then you shouldn't really.
If nothing is mentioned regarding a refund then I would still check with MSC before returning the item.
