    Thank you :)
  • Hi

I'm doing my first profit/loss tax bill. I have charged for printing, mileage etc. I have put down £5 for office, divided my BT bill by 4 each month and charged a percentage of my mobile tarrif. Does that sound reasonable?

    thanks

  • I've signed up to a few mystery shopping companies but am finding some don't pay very well at all, I mean £2.50 and £2.75 for an assignment, it's really not worth bothering with, how do they manage to get people to do them?!
  • sorry to be boring about the tax issue but if you're out for a few hours in the day doing MS jobs away from home and need lunch, is it okay to buy a sandwich and charge it as an expense?

thanks and Happy Christmas to all my fellow MS's. I really have appreciated all the helpful advice on here.
  • Afraid Not.

you need to eat if you mystery shopping or not. Not a valid expense, as HMRC rightly say you could have made lunch to take with you (And would have had to pay for that)

That is why even the experienced shoppers take the odd poorly paying cafe/sandwich/pub visit.
