GR supermarket jobs are back, with a lower fee, but less to do.

Yippee, I have got one. Not seen that scenario for about 18 months - easy to do though and fee is fine for the effort IMHO

I've not done a phone job with them. I did a TNS phone job that was horrendous so it's put me off doing them now. Pity the DS client went bust, that was not too bad a job.

Must admit TNS phone shops turned me off phone shop jobs in general. It was the TNS report and the unknown time having to hang around in the shop, that finished me off on those jobs in the end,

Definitely good value for the effort involved, but it's halved my catchment area. Some of the stores I usually do won't be worth travelling to any more. Maybe there's going to be revised collection jobs as well. We'll have to see.

They do seem to have some sort of rotation, but this has still meant that there's been 3 or 4 stores available to me every month.

I think they used to have a rotation ages ago, but for the last few months I have done the same store, month in month out. They have allowed that whereas in the past it was one month, none the next month, and then again in the third month.

I am a bit worried too, no collection, no delivery and no 10 question visits for a whole month. I bet the woman at CS is getting worried I have not approached her with one of those crazy questions, haha. Let's hope that supermarket has not followed in the footsteps of the ex TNS supermarket, or they too will go downhill!

Hope to see them again and soon!
  • I'm a bit puzzled with the new GR supermarket brief. Are you expected to join each of the queues you are measuring like before or can you observe them from distance while making the mandatory self service purchase? It tells you to exclude yourself from the count for each of the 3 queues, as if you still have to join them (which would mean having to make a transaction at each). Yet you're only supposed to be making the one purchase at the self service. Some things definitely haven't been edited properly as it still says "Please remember that the Kiosk is combined with the Customer Service Desk and that you should combine both interactions." Well there isn't a customer service question any more!

See my later posts mimi1234. GR have put some new style supermarket jobs on today at a lower fee.

You basically observe from a distance - I pretend I am looking at at shopping list and then walk along all the tills and do the numbers.

Do one of these and you'll not see a collection or multi query job in that store for a very long time, if ever.

And the problem with that is? Pound for pound, I know which one I'd rather do. I do one fairly regularly and I'm not normally in store for five minutes. Reimbursement even covers a bar of chocolate to eat while I tap the numbers in.
Yes it's overwhelming, but what else can we do?
Get jobs in offices and wake up for the morning commute?
  • i've done the audit one for GR and the several scenario one. Haven't been asked this time but maybe they need different shoppers.
