Non Smart Phone with Large Screen
Options
I need a new mobile phone and am looking for a non Smart phone but with a large screen (eyesight problems). I just need the phone for calls - not interested in any other facility. I would prefer a clamshell but this is not vital.
Does anyone have any recommendations please?

The obvious answer would be one of the Doro phones.0

Perfectly possible to buy a budget smartphone (say a Moto E?) and only use it for calls. No free lunch, and no free laptop0

The Doro looks good - thank you. However, is it possible just to get a suitable phone for calls - I really do not need other functions - except possibly a torch! Also, am I correct in thinking that all non-Smartphones have a wake up alarm which does not necessitate having the phone turned on?0

Little Owl,
We have two of these, we can enlarge the print and even reverse black/white, basic phone with a few bells, such as emergency call button, etc. would highly recommend if you have eyesight problems. only minus is the battery needs to be topped up, so get one with a charging stand.
we think it is the best with it's big buttons as well:grouphug: Threewheeler0 -
My elderly grandparents (In their 90s) have had Doro mobile phones for a few years, and love them. My well-meaning father, in an attempt to make them a bit more trendy, bought them a Doro flip phone, which Granny says is not a patch on the traditional style Doro mobile phone, because she can't open it up with her arthritic fingers. If you think you might have motor skill problems in a few years, I'd advise sticking to the regular "candy bar" shape phones.© Cuilean 2005. Any connection between your reality and mine is purely coincidental.0

There are lots of different types of Doro phone, which are designed to be easy to use, so you don't have to have a smartphone if you don't want one

Maybe the PhoneEasy 508 would suit you? That really doesn't seem to have many features.0 -
Thank you Threewheeler and Cuilean
It looks like the Doro - will the wake alarm activate with phone turned off too?0 -
How about The Brick?

or this:

It has a torch, makes/receives phone calls and texts and has an FM radio. That's about it0 -
Do not use the alarm , as I have a fold up version, mine normally stays on overnight so would wake me up if I set it to alarm.:grouphug: Threewheeler0
