I had a little google and your autocomplete history might be corrupt.Try this:
Clear Forms and Passwords Information in the AutoComplete History

To clear forms and passwords information in the AutoComplete settings in Internet Explorer:
    1.Start Internet Explorer.
2.On the Tools menu, click Internet Options
.3.On the Content tab, click AutoComplete.
4.Click Clear Forms, click Clear Passwords, and then click OK.

if that doesn't work read this
    http://support.microsoft.com/kb/251787
but be sure to backup your registry before you try changing it.
  • thanks sammyy ive tried the first advice you gave and that didnt work had a look at the second link and looks a bit confusing for my computer knowledge ive managed to get my IE to log on to my homepage and this works fine so might have to just do it this way rather than me do more harm thank you all for your advice

My friend also had Norton but it didnt pick up most of the spyware that AVG and Spybot picked up.
My advice is to uninstall Norton and install a free anti-virus like AVG or Avast.
    Dont forget Spybot & Ad-Aware !!!
  • Just for your information Heidi, and earlier you advised that you tried two dates and SR indicated no changes. System Restore will not work until "protection" is turned off for your Symantec(Norton) product. I can only relate to Internet Security 2006 though.
Open up Security Centre - click options - antivirus(on the drop down menu) - miscellaneous (under other)- then at the bottom untick Turn protection on. Then System Restore should work.
Then reverse the protection by ticking the Turn on box.
  • I have sorted it was trying to print out the instructions for the sticky thread spyware etc and it kept missing bits out so tried copy paste to word and said not enough memory. had a look at what was on the computer and all the tunes etc my son had downloaded had used up all the memory deleted everything and its working perfick....as simple as that der:rolleyes: !!! thank you all for all your help will be keeping some of these posts for future reference
