help b4 i throw my pc through the window!

I dont know if anyone can help me or not but after my teenage son went on the computer last night i cant type anything in search boxes when i use my bt homepage,it eventually types in but half a mile behind not instantly making form filling in a nightmare it probably types in one character every 20 seconds.I can use internet explorer ok which is how ive managed to type this. Ive tried deleting all the cookies and ive run a virus scan which showed nothing ive also restarted the computer numerous times.Does anyone know what could cause this before i have to spend hours on the phone to bt when it might not be a problem they can help me with thank you

Any more ideas? thanks again for trying to help

    xp home or pro?
do you let him on with an admin account? if so, you could set him up with a user account and password protect the admin account.
  • yeah i did system restore went back to two dates it said there was no changes. yes he went through mine on the main account but he has his own log in but he wont be going on again. Dont no which xp it is how do you find that out? If the worst comes to the worst will have to ring bt but really couldnt stand the stress of talking to someone abroad, not being able to understand a word while they follow their sheet telling me to do the same thing over and over again like switch the pc on and off!! i am going to turn the hub off now and restart that again dont know if it will help, while i go and pick my meddlesome teenager up from work!!!!!
