Move the mouse pointer over the bar at the bottom the screen, right click and select Task Manager, click the performance tab and have a look at the CPU Useage, should be low <10% under normal useage0

Not sure why you think that your ISP will help sort out your PC! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

do you still have the CD that the BT browser came on? Have you tried re-installing it? I've never used BT browser but does it do something you can't do without? I would recommend just downloading and installing firefox, i imagine even IE is better than BT browser though, heh0

The Malware/Spyware removal sticky tells you to make sure that you have "at least Windows XP Service Pack 1a" before proceeding. You have said that you have XP SP2 which is the latest currently available, so get on with it. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0 -
No bt browswer probably doesnt do anything special was just worried why having these problems it comes with norton protection centre so didnt think it could be a virus and im impatient like things fixed straight away! What is firefox? Was worried with downloading more anti virus etc seems to effect the wireless connection had load of trouble getting bt broadband in the beginning computer had allsorts on it and loads of things had to be deleted bt "technical" man said they fight against each other or words to that effect
I will hunt the cd and try that thank you for the advice everyone! Heidi x

Well after a hell of a lot of searching, ive finally found where you can download this BT yahoo browser from:
http://bt.custhelp.com/cgi-bin/bt.cfg/php/enduser/cci/bt_adp.php?p_sid=&cat_lvl1=346&cat_lvl2=401&cat_lvl3=402&cat_lvl4=405&p_cv=4.405&p_cats=346,401,402,405&p_faqid=7048#browsers
I can't go any further than that page because I don't have a BT account, but i would imagine its pretty simple, i imagine that it is more upto date than yours too.
I also asked the lovely Emma a few questions (no not an imaginary friend - the help at BT seems to be by a lovely girl called Emma) and the following questions may be of use to you if you are considering using IE or firefox and need to access your BT stuff through them.

My friend had the same problem. Everything would take so long to appear when typing especially on the internet.
I installed Ad-Aware & Spybot S&D and it picked up so many malware/spyware. After deleting them, ran AVG anti-virus and removed a few trojans, it fixed the problem.0
