listings removed from ebay

i've had some listings removed from ebay for going against the copyright apparently? all i did was mention the name of the brand the item was made by. i didn't think there was anything wrong with doing this?

Did you use the word "like" anywhere in the title, or something similar, so that the tracking Ebay used would have seen "Like brandX" which is against the rules. If you post the title here(delete the company name if you feel you should) it may help.

AFAIK and I don't really sell branded clothing very often, some companies stop resellers/traders from selling their items on Ebay and have heavy brand control.

hi, no i didn't use 'like' or anything like that. like i said just mentioned the brand name, but this brand appears in the drop down list when you create your listing, so is it just that they don't want me to use it in the title??

There are many companies, including designer labels that only license sales through certain outlets. Listing labelled clothes can be problematic as many wll testify.

The fact that others have listed makes no difference, in fact it was probably one of those competitors who turned you in.

I don't think it's what you had in the title (in red) that is the cause, I reckon it was because you said 'boho' as this too is a company name.

I had something similar happen, the following item was removed:

BNWT Marks and Spencer jeans, as new. LOOK!!

I didn't think twice about it, but apparently it's keyword spamming due to the words "new" and "look" appearing (like the shop). It's such a pain, it doesn't read like i'm lying about the brand name. It just wastes time, why can't they just send a warning to change the title?! I've sold plenty of items with "next day delivery" in the title, but they don't remove those for keyword spamming with NEXT clothes. Grr!

No, it's keyword spamming due to the words 'as new' appearing :)

Anyone searching for the word 'new' will bring up a load of 'as new' items they're not interested in.

Would anyone really go searching on ebay for 'new look'? :rotfl: :D

I once sold this book on Ebay & it got removed as it had a swear word in the title. How was I supposed to sell the book if I couldn't list it's title??!
