School uniform - how many shirts/trousers etc?

I have five of everything., but with my son's school you could get away with George stuff to start off with, bought the more expensive logo'd polo shirts and sweat shirts as I could afford them. The George stuff is fine quality but I must admit the logo'd sweat shirts in particular retain their colour for longer (navy blue). Found the George ones went quite shabby and paler. I hem the trousers and let them down as he grows. Saves me a fortune (as long as he doesn't hole the knees). At times he grows a centimetre a month.

I put iron on names in all clothes that go to school.., and then if my son loses a sweatshirt I do get them back. I also try to keep track of what he has on when he comes out, and ask where his sweat shirt is if I can't see it on his body lol.

NOTHING seems to stop him losing trainers though.., so now I just give him plimsols., somehow they never get lost.
