6 sets of everything, which are hung on a child sized clothes rail in the playroom. The kids help themselves in the morning, a tub with pants and socks are underneath. I buy the same grey socks for son and daughter (same shoe size) 15 pairs. On Friday night the white polo shirts soak in oxy/Powder, Saturday all washed ready to start again.
Sorting boys/ girls polo shirts are a nightmare, I've used permanent marker to put a red dot on the inside of neck for daughter and blue dot for son. Anal, but it works for us0 -
Hi
My daughter has 5 blouses 3 skirts & 3 cardigans. I buy all of these from the school outfitter shop because her uniform is green & yellow.
However my son's uniform is black & white & I find George school uniform good & not expensive.
Cheers

i also go for george
for big LO (boy) 5 trousers 10 socks 5 shirts and 3 jumpers that usually lasts us a half term - he grows like a weed and plays football constantly
for little LO (girl) 2 dresses 2 skirts 2 pair of trousers 4 tights 5 socks 2 cardigans 2 jumpers - she gets cold easily so lots of layers works for her but these have lasted since september perfectly in tactThe only people I have to answer to are my beautiful babies aged 8 and 50 -
Our autistic son has 8 sweatshirts, 6 polos, & 4 trousers. It's not enough, I have to do a midweek wash
In his defense, his lunch goes everywhere so he generally gets through 2 sweatshirts a day and still comes home in a mess!
As for not needing as many 'normal' clothes, I get a surprise every school holiday when I realise he doesn't really have enough to last. Two pairs of jeans and 3 sweatshirts may last a weekend, but not a fortnight!:heartpuls Mrs Marleyboy :heartpuls

3 trousers, 2 sets of 2 polo shirts (4), and a couple of jumpers should start you off well.
Be warned, that your son will lose his jumpers on a regular basis. :)However you don't want to be buying lots of things that he'll grow out of in a half term, so i'd not buy more than the above."On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My primary school aged child is now 10. We have;
A polo shirt for everyday plus 2x spares!
3 pairs if trousers
5 jumpers.
My secondary aged school child has 3 full sets of uniform, excluding the blazer. I wash clothes everyday, rarely is the machine not on at least twice a day.
When they were little I had 5x of everything.0 -
When mine were little and uniform was relatively cheap (compared to what secondary school uniform and kit costs) I had
5 trousers
5 shirts (because the school colour for these was white!)
and started with 3 school jumpers, eventually in future years going upto 5 when 1 or 2 from the previous year was still wearable and I could just top up.
This is the amount I started with each Sept, as then I could imagine a whole week without washing at all, if there was illness in the house, the washing machine broke, we were extremely busy during the week for whatever reason. Starting with 5 meant when it got to March time (for example) and son had managed to tear 2 pairs of trousers, 2 shirts were stained beyond redemption and a jumper or two had been lost, there was still enough uniform to get us through the rest of the academic year, without struggling to find replacements, as uniform can be a bit thin on the ground at certain times of the year.0 -
6 shirts/polo shirts, 3 pairs of trousers, 3 jumpers. Like others, I work on a one on, one drying, one in the wash basis. With one of my children, I do find that some years I have to replace trousers as he has a crotch splitting problem! Last year was the first year I replaced on the basis of trousers ankle-swinging on my middle-child! You can always buy from a small selection of uniform in Asda and you will find that the major stores always wheel out uniform during school holidays, even if only on a small scale.
I use cheap soda crystals to keep shirts white - a scoop in the white wash is enough and works.
Reception children play a lot and use a lot of glue and paint - I would count on changing the jumper every day.0 -
Both of my boys were kitted out with the following from Reception onwards:
Polo shirts or short sleeve cotton shirts - 5 or 6
Trousers - 3
Logoed school sweatshirts - 3
Socks - 10 pairs as they go missing!
They had a clean uniform on every day and I would wash the trousers and jumpers on a Tuesday night. Shirts would wait until Friday
The one word of advice I do have though is buy the stuff early as it is virtually impossible to go to a high street shop/supermarket at the end of August and find the sizes you want. Marks and Spencer usually have an offer running before they even break up for the school holidays. School shoes also need to be bought mid August as Clarks especially do not always have the size you need.0 -
3 Jumpers/cardigans, 3 skirts/trousers and as many shirts as you can fit in the cupboard.0
