removal of for sale sign

When we sold our old place I told them I didn't want a sign up but they still put one up, I took it straight down again. I didn't want the neighbours knowing what we were up to.Nothing to see here, move along.0

When we bought, the sign stayed up after completion and despite several requests for the agent to remove it. In the end, I left it outside their shop. I had a bigger car then...."Have nothing in your houses that you do not know to be useful, or believe to be beautiful." William Morris0

I never understood this - you'll be moving out shortly, why do you care what they think?0 -
Last time we moved the sign was in our back garden for ages and the EA ignored all phone messages to collect it. We eventually got hold of them and they said they'd collect it which they never did. It ended up in the bin, and it turned out the partners of the EA went their separate ways and both renamed 2 months after we completed so they clearly didn't need the sign any more! We are actually selling with one half of the partners now (the other now only does rentals after struggling) and the service is a lot better thankfully.0

The house we've just bought didn't have any board up while it was actually for sale, or while we were completing the process between offer accepted and exchange. Then when we went over on completion day a 'sold' board had magically appeared. Needless to say we took it down immediately. Two months later no one has contacted us about it.0

The agent legally has to remove the sign within 14 days of completion....0 -
The Sold sign on the house I sold last year was converted into a To Let sign with the same agent whilst the removals company were loading up the van.0

Basically they were scum bags who would have found ways to make it difficult for us to sell but as it turns out we sold it on the first weekend it was on the market.nomoneytoday wrote: »I never understood this - you'll be moving out shortly, why do you care what they think?Nothing to see here, move along.0 -
