I thought Tesco wanted to reduce food waste? No evidence of that happening. Want to buy only 14 or 15 garlic bulbs instead of 45 garlic bulbs? You will be charged a premium of fifty percent. Want to buy a pretty large bag of onions (5kg)? You will be charged a premium of fifty percent. Want to buy a single pack of a medley of stir-fry veg? You will be charged a premium of 70%.
Have you seriously never noticed larger pack sizes cost less per weight?
Go to your local greengrocer. That way you can buy exactly the amount you need (no forced pack sizes), it's usually more locally grown (so less food miles) and the price is always the same per lb or kg no matter how much you buy.
