I thought Tesco wanted to reduce food waste? No evidence of that happening. Want to buy only 14 or 15 garlic bulbs instead of 45 garlic bulbs? You will be charged a premium of fifty percent. Want to buy a pretty large bag of onions (5kg)? You will be charged a premium of fifty percent. Want to buy a single pack of a medley of stir-fry veg? You will be charged a premium of 70%.

And what has the price premium got to do with food waste? (Other than the possibility that the food won't sell and thus go to waste; although they'll reduce the price to sell as it approaches the appropriate sell by/best before date to minimise that risk).0

I always thought that was the case, but recently at tescos it has not been.
Don't know what it is like in the main but certainly in things i have been buying recently cheaper to buy them individually then as a bulk pack.
carton juices £3.50/4 or individually 2 for £1.50
tins of soup 50p/each or 4 for £2.50
tins of beans 50p/each or 4 for £2.50
I must check more often rather than just using favourites for my shop0
