Money is such a taboo. If anyone knew what we were doing in real life I'm sure they'd think we're bonkers or most probably being tight!
Good to have someone else on the self-employed train - I love it but do worry about work drying up! Emergency pot is definitely important. Ours covers 3 months of expenses roughly but would be v tight. Should probably think about adding more to it but it's a decent base for now.
SR x
Ya it certainly is me and my family i have a small one me sister mam dad and grandparents are all open about money mortgage ect ect but friends ect not so much at all
i guess from the outside looking in it looks like we own a lot but in reality we just trying to pay it off. People say ohh you got some money aint you buying a house well ya it took me 8-10 years to save up when you was drinking it away lol
Ya self employment is the best thing iv ever done in my life even with the up and down income from week to week Emergency pot is essential for me as im doing it all on my own i need a year and a bit really which i now thankfully have if i had a wife tho id half this hahaMortgage--- [STRIKE]£67700 March 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65221 April 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64983 July 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64780 sept 15[/STRIKE] Remortgage [STRIKE]£67295 oct 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£66599 Nov 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65878.73 Dec 15[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £64834 1st Jan 16[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Feb 16 £64,511.89[/STRIKE][STRIKE] March 16 £64,056.40[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]April 16 £62550[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]May 16 £62,396.20[/STRIKE] Feb 17 £60.800

So...drumroll...thanks to LIL and Maybeitsbecause encouraging me to split extra money between paying back my sis and OPing I now have 2 goals.
By the end of 2015 I [STRIKE]want to[/STRIKE] will have:
1. Saved £30,000 towards the £40,000 I owe my sister
2. Get the mortgage into the £250s - it's currently £269,244
Better get on with it!

SR that is an amazing target really is i hope you smash it :] sometimes all you need is a bit of a push to change your mind and it always opens up new choices :] do you think youll get your sister to pay the 40k off her house heheMortgage--- [STRIKE]£67700 March 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65221 April 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64983 July 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£64780 sept 15[/STRIKE] Remortgage [STRIKE]£67295 oct 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£66599 Nov 15[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]£65878.73 Dec 15[/STRIKE][STRIKE] £64834 1st Jan 16[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]Feb 16 £64,511.89[/STRIKE][STRIKE] March 16 £64,056.40[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]April 16 £62550[/STRIKE] [STRIKE]May 16 £62,396.20[/STRIKE] Feb 17 £60.800

I think thats a great plan SR I think you should think 2 years ahead instead of a year this way youll see your sister payed of and start chucking lots of OP at the mortgage :]
