  • we have lots of friends who would love to have a mortgage and can't afford to buy here. So in a warped way, we're lucky

Never thought of it like this - good point well made SR!

Good job on the £100. Well done to your OH on the payrise but equally well done to you for getting him that little bit more on board.

Like you, I get OH to transfer money into the joint account and the rest is his - no questions asked. He recently added more to his joint account contribution after the MFW talk so it looks like we're getting our OHs to start walking the walk too
    :D

Oh, and on your pocket money question, I give myself £180-£200 a month for spends. Usually waste it on food, especially when I'm at work but trying to avoid that. :o

    Have a good weekend

Exciting day today - invoices have been paid and I've just cleared all our debt and put £1,500 into the emergency fund. Whooppeeee!

In other news I have been awful with my spending this week and so haven't got much to live on for March as I gave myself an advance on my spending money. We're on hols for a week and a bit and have separate money for spending so will hopefully be able to survive on £150 for the last 2.5 weeks of March.

I'm off to update my sig. Hope everyone is having fun updating spreadsheets after pay day!

    SR

    Great stuff thats amazing :]
im sure youll be ok for march we have to spend a little sometimes hehe :]

  • Hi SavingRaven - I don't have a cleaner yet but am seriously thinking about it. I also work pretty long hours (though not 6 days a week!) and housework is by far the biggest cause of arguments in our house. A big part of me thinks it would be worth the expense for the benefit to our lifestyle and relationship!

Hey SR i know what you mean you make a list then you try to do the list as you planned but things always change.

I think mixing it up a bit is the key maby 1k to mortgage then 3k to your sister just come to an agreement with her which allows you to overpay asap if you ever want a month off then you can just not make a over payment :]

I myself was going to save for 2 years then try to pay a lump sum when i switch the the SVR but im just going to start paying it off now even when fees are involved 3% what ever i overpay. think is every over payment will help the capital coming off the normal monthly payments we make

plans change :] have a great weekend SR
