Rubbish removal (without a skip)

Hi there, I was wondering if anyone knows of any good rubbish collection companies that won't overcharge? Our garage is full of the old carpets and underlay we just took up, as well as rubbish from redecorating.
We don't have transportation to take it to the dump ourselves (live in suburban London near a station so don't use a car) and it's too late to get a skip as there's nowhere to put it (all communal gardens).

Can't seem to find much on them, but I've heard of these before and I'm sure it was positive!

We had a builder's skip recently and I'm sure they said it was 8 cubic yards, not 6, but that cost us £168 (we're in Leeds) so I think the prices are actually pretty reasonable.0 -
We've just had a 4 tonne skip for £122, however there are some companies who will do a drop and wait service.
They put the skip down, you fill it up, and they take it off 20 minutes later.
Failing that, you could get a HippoBag from B&Q, but they're not cheapCashback

Some advertise locally on local Facebook buy and sell pages etc - whether they're all licensed or not may be a different matter!0

Do your local council offer a pay to take it away service?
I guess the only problem with that might be where you would leave it for them to collect as they're not going to take it out of the garage for you.All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.
Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.0 -
Aren't there any "Cheaper than a skip" adverts in the local paper?Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

The carpets and underlay have a value to some people. I have used Freecycle to dispose of all sorts - it is amazing what people want, from old plasterboard offcuts, to scrap pallets, to old doors etc. I have also collected old carpets, from neighbours and friends, and used them as floor protection on small building jobs
Also on small building and DIY projects, it is possible to put considerable amounts in the bin. I have neighbours whose bins are rarely full and they are happy for theirs to be used. Other times, over the period of some weeks, I have disposed of heaps through using the surrounding bins. Obviously, one asks first!0 -
I've collected old carpets from freecycle and used them as extra layers of insulation over boarded parts of attic.0

won't they go in the grey bin bit by bit?Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0

Take a picture, and post up on the local "Sales & Wants Site".
Someone will give you a £££ "best price, cash" offer to dispose of your "junk".0 -
We have a little house we rent out and between tenants we replaced all the carpets. the carpet fitter piled it all up outside to load into his van later and a woman came across the road and asked if she could have it all. She wanted it to lay down on her garden and allotment to kill weeds.0
