Saab - yes or no
I have the opportunity (friend is emigrating) of getting a Saab 2.2 TDI Arc Estate significantly below any comparable price that I can find on line. Its an old vehicle (hey this is MSE) 02 plate just over 100K miles
So 2 questions -
* Is it going to eat ,me alive with running & maintenance costs
* Which names are associated with better specs eg I have seen Arc Vector and Linear and they all seem pretty well specced. (My guess from low spec to high is Linear, Vector, Arc - but that's coz I'm a maths geek)
So "chance in a lifetime" or "bargepole territory"
Thanks in advance
EDIT : Its a Saab 9-5 Estate

Personal experience says never again. I had the 2.0l arc estate. All the toys. Xenon lights, heated electric seats. Had a FSH car and so many problems coil packs, gravity sensors, engine bbreathers, crank shaft sensor, engine management light kept coming on and fault code couldn't be replicated. Just avoid unless it's dirt cheap0

ok, £600 for being an estate.
On paper it sounds nice; big diesel estate car with leather. But in reality, it will be a pig.0 -

Cheaper alternative to a van.
Good mile muncher and very comfy though, but that engine and everything bolted to it will fail.0 -
